Old Town Road to EGOT

Great thread, though even though I read the title, I was hoping this would be about a new album from him :smith:

One of my favorite ambient songs of all time is Rhubarb, from SAW2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVvjXJentik

I even recorded my own little homage/cover of it years ago. (This was like the second or third song I ever recorded in my life.)

And anytime I talk about Rhubarb, I have to bring up this classical guitar cover, which is one of my favorite covers of all time:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4hQG-XTVa4

Alberto Balsalm, Xtal and Film have already been mentioned. Those are a couple of my other favorite songs of his. But let's not forget one of his best piano tracks, Avril 14th!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfYl6_f2Mdg

And one of my favorites from his more abrasive side:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqTKOq8DmWU

Really, he's one of the first electronic artists I got really into, and one of the artists that made me want to try my hand at making electronic music of my own, so I'll always love him and respect him. Even though his discography is massive and intimidating and I don't like it all, there's still a lot to love for newcomers. So don't let his body of work scare you!

edit: Oh, and I forgot another one of my favorites from SAW: Aegiespolis.

I'm feeling it. Also makes Rich's comment of this being "more accessible" make more sense.
Ohhhhh poo poo, 1:04

This sounds fresh while also sounding very retro at the same time, which is pretty much what I was hoping for. Cool! :) I can't wait to hear the rest of it!

I think my favorite tracks he's ever done are Film, Rhubarb, Alberto Balsalm and Avril 14th, but really I like all of his stuff. The entirety of SAW85-92 and SAW2 is solid gold.

Still, yeah, that's a ton of gear.

Didn't warp somehow manage to keep tomorrow's harvest from leaking until release day practically?
They held a livestream of the whole album before release day and the entire thing was on the web pretty much immediately after that.

Listening for the first time now, on Produk 29 at the moment. My god, Adult Swim is gonna have so much new bump music.

Also, so far I feel like this is gonna be one of those albums that I'll listen to for years and still hear new things every time I listen to it because there's just so much loving substance to these tracks.

e: Jesus Christ, 180db sounds like something you'd dance to as you're getting thrown into Hell.

e2: CIRCLONT6A :staredog: I would kill for an album of more stuff like this.

e3: CIRCLONT14 ruuuuuuuuules too. Jesus, I love this.

e4: Holy hell, Syro u473t8+e is perfect. I'm pretty sure this is my album of the year already.

e5: The drums in PAPAT4 are simply stellar.

e6: Yeah, this album is just unbelievably good through and through. S590tx16wasr10 owned and Aisatsana was a big change of pace but the prettiest ambient piece I've heard all year and also his best piano piece since Avril 14th.

This track is like 1000x better than Anaconda and it's a better use of the video for that song than the song it was meant for.

Japanese bonus track for SYRO. And it's gorgeous. Why didn't he include this in the original tracklist?
:stare: Yeah, this is excellent. It's so good I think I'm gonna need to hear it on all future listens of Syro. But where would I fit in in on the tracklist? Not after Aisatsana because that's the perfect album closer. Before it, perhaps?

It's a really good use of the song.
It would be if it wasn't a Die Antwoord track. I think this Ageispolis/rap mashup idea has a ton of potential, but not with them doing the rapping. Of course, I just hate anything Die Antwoord does in general. If it was another hip-hop artist on this track instead, I'd probably like it a lot more.

Listening now for the first time. This release isn't half as good as Syro so far, but all the instruments do sound pretty fantastic, especially the drums.

Mutation posted:

Piano Un10 It Happened is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Aisatsana.
Which one is that again? I forgot already.

e: Wait, I got it confused with piano un1 arpeg. Yeah, piano un10 it happened is beautiful.

Goddamn these song titles, though :argh:
