Acceptableloss posted:So now I'm looking at Aleph too. I'm having trouble seeing who the PanO cheerleader unit is supposed to be. I guess it's Fusiliers? How is Aleph's ability to take 4pt netrods not unbalancing in terms of being able to generate a bunch of orders for a very low point cost? I think I'm liking the looks of the Aleph cheerleader models and also the prevalence of mimetism/camo and no wound incapacitation in the army. I'm not very good at this game, but as far as netrods go I think consensus is that it kinda is broken, but everything else Aleph has is so expensive that it's not too broken.

I'm preordering Operation: Icestorm, and I want to get an additional box for each faction to expand it out and play bigger games with my friends. I don't have any PanO or Nomad stuff. What would be good purchases to compliment the stuff in the box? Edit: I'm thinking the Tunguska Interventors box for Nomad and then the Kamau Hacker/Guarda de Assalto for PanO. long-ass nips Diane fucked around with this message at 16:48 on Aug 1, 2014 |

Genghis Cohen posted:Swagger Dagger: It's hard to say much about interventors or any other hackers as the rules will be redone (and apparently vastly expanded) very soon. I would say for additional boxes, the starter sets for the various sectorial armies are good places to look. Value for money and gives you a number of models. If cost is a factor, things with small ancillary models like auxbots, koalas and pandas, or massier models like remotes, give you a bit less gameplay bang for their greater bucks cost. Thanks for the advice. I think I'm just going to get the Icestorm box and each faction's spec ops right now so I can try out different scenario rules. Down the line I want to get the Capitaline Army and Bolts for PanO since I love the models more than anything else in the faction, and probably Hellcats for Nomads.

Deviant posted:The only problem with this stuff is none of it folds flat. I'm citing storage concerns. I wasn't sure if it folded or not, sorry. If you like the aesthetics, the WorldWorks Terrainlinx stuff is made to store flat but you're not going to get any multi-story buildings out of it. You can really easily make a 4x4 "mat" that slides together really sturdily and add a bunch of walkways and upper levels to it to compliment bigger buildings you find elsewhere, though. I've put together some of their fantasy terrain, and it was high quality stuff. You just print it out and glue it to foamcore, and it anchors well so stuff doesn't knock around. long-ass nips Diane fucked around with this message at 21:34 on Aug 1, 2014 |

Watching this video: http://www.beastsofwar.com/infinity/battle-box-operation-icestorm/ Carlos mentions the Tunguska Interventors are going to be very popular in the future because there are big changes to the hacking rules coming, so look forward to that I guess.

They talked about this on the last Mayacast. Apparently there are 3 different hacking devices, each of which has access to a different set of programs (I assume there's overlap between the lists). Combined Army also has its own unique programs.

The rulebook is also a total luxury item since, IIRC, they're still going to put the rules on the site for free and the army builder is where the "official" stats for models live.
