It's good to see that Kojipro is making sure the English version retains the same quality of the original Metal Gear Solid dub, for a moment I was worried we might have had good VA this time around.

David Hayter's growl can be pretty terrible, especially post-MGS2, but Sutherland sounded really disinterested throughout this new trailer, and he botched the "Kept you waiting, huh?" line pretty badly. Weirdly enough, he had actually managed to nail the previous trailers. EDIT: Skullface is the worst though. Had to be an intern.

I really wonder why that line wasn't re-recorded and what prompted Sutherland (not my favorite actor, but not exactly a bad one either) to deliver it that way. It almost sounded like he was being pressed for time, or trying to match the lips movement.. except the facial capture is based on his acting performance

Can someone give me a rundown of the new health system and how it works in practice in the game? I've watched a playthrough, but the guy was simply too good and never got hurt in the first place (which is pretty rare for Let's Plays, now that I think about it).

If you've already played the other games, then, uh, do whatever you want? I mean, Metal Gear Rising is an action game that plays in the same fiction as Metal Gear Solid, but besides that, I'm not sure it actually fits in any particular slot if you're doing a "whole series playthrough" or anything of that ilk.

What point have you reached? Parrying is *the* fundamental fighting mechanic of the game, and I really would suggest you to try and practice it on mooks until you get the hang of it. You absolutely don't need to stand still to pull it off though!

Granted, my memory is fuzzy (I'll check the old trailers later), but if I recall correctly how they were presented before release, Metal Gear Solid 2 was all about Snake escaping from the Tanker and replacing Raiden on Big Shell, with the snippets of cutscenes shown being less blood diamond-y and more pulp spy stuff, and Metal Gear Solid 3 was all about showing off the jungle and the 60s vibe. Metal Gear Solid 4 might have been grimdark, though I can't help but remember the Raiden trying to assassinate Snake to become the protagonist stuff.
