I usually need push pull when I want to rearrange a row that is text block / image to flow to image / text block on extra small.

Edit: though in code it's reversed because of mobile first and all that jazz.

If you can't use svg for something you can always load a hi res image and scale it through css, and provide an <IE9 fallback by putting \9 at the end of the CSS rule. ( Like background: url('hires.jpg');background: url('lowres.jpg')\9;background-size: 100px 50px; )

Yeah I would expect usage of bootstrap going up.

Also, "what's going on in the world of CSS" is not a question that really applies to what is happening with bootstrap.

If it is a genuinely good company, they hired you because of your foundation knowledge, your problem solving methods, and your attitude. If a company is set up well, they have mentors that can help you out with getting better acquainted with the nuisances of frameworks / MVCs.
