I enjoyed it some. It helps if you don't think of it as a zombie movie or based off the book. It's a disease movie like Contagion but less talking and more mindless pointless action.

You could have had 5/6ths of Day Z switched out with 8mm footage of waves on a beach threatening to run over a sand castle and it would have had the same emotional and visceral impact. Would've been about as entertaining, too. It wasn't a bad movie, just utterly worthless and devoid of meaning.
