Now that I've beat the game I'm doing character playdates for fun. I took Michael out as Trevor and had a great conversation between the two where Michael apologized and Trevor accepted it. Then we burried the hatchet over a game of golf. :unsmith:

Oh and new thread! Wooooo! :woop:

Oh man, just switched back to Trevor and he was under the Velspucci Beach pier tying some gagged dude in a suit to one of the beams going "And that's why you don't talk meanly to strangers." 35 hours in and still finding tons of fun stuff.

Wait you can take characthers out on playdates? Everytime i try the phone just goes to voice mail.

I think certain characters are only available at certain times. If they're available it should say "Hang Out" under their name in Contacts. Like Jimmy is only available at night. Take him out drinking as Franklin for added hilarity.

I actually really dig the increased difficulty. I don't like how cops teleport in front of you or how they seem to be lurking in unlikely places like at the top of Mt. Chilliad, but it's still better than the cops in GTA4 which you can easily lose.

I'm a little disappointed in the Rhino though. I wish it could drive over more than half a dozen cars before blowing up.

I think my copy might be corrupted. Whenever I boot up my 360 with it in the tray I get "unreadable" errors. However, if I start my 360 without it in the tray and put it in the tray during the profile select screen it'll play. I don't know how it works, but it works. I know I should really call someone about it, but I can't pry myself away from the game long enough to look into it. So weak. :(

I have a question for someone who has finished the main story. It might be spoilers (I'm speculating something before completing the game myself, so I dunno).

Can you still play as all three characters for side missions after the main story is over?

Yes, but it depends on which ending you choose. Don't worry. You'll know which ending it is when the time comes.

I don't know about anyone else but flying planes in GTA5 seems to be considerably easier than flying helicopters. This is a first for me in a GTA game. Normally I find helicopters fairly easy (I think the heli controls in GTA4 were great) and I avoid planes like they were deathtraps, but just the other day I was getting away from a four-star chase by taking a private jet plane and I managed to easily take off from the runway even while surrounded by police vehicles. Unfortunately, not long after I escaped the left engine blew out. I quickly navigated to the Sandy Springs airstrip and prepared for an emergency landing. As I descended and engaged the landing gear the other engine blew out. poo poo! On descent and I have no engine. Somehow, I managed to softly land the disabled jet right on the close end of the runway without any damage to the plane and this was as Franklin, the character with the worst flying skill of the three.

I couldn't managed that in a helicopter. The final heist prep mission where you have to transport that train engine with the towing helicopter was one of the most frustrating moments in the game for me. You can barely move the thing without having it wobble like a top and trying to get it hover in place? Forget about it. Sure, the planes have turbulence too, but all it seems to do is just rock back and forth a little bit, which is easier to manage.

I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that one of my proudest GTA5 moments in safely landing a private get with no working engine as the worst pilot in the game. :toot:

I think how it works is that it lets everyone in the vehicle have the choice to change stations. I know that at least the player in the passenger seat can do it.

I just realized that if you drive with the cinematic camera on and press the right thumbstick down the game goes into slow-mo. That's pretty awesome since I love free roam driving with the cinematic camera on.

Well I just tried going online for the first time. I don't know if I'm lucky or if it's just because it's so late, but I was able to get in without a hitch. Unfortunately, I'm at the very beginning where Lamar tries to set me up with a race with other players, but no one seems to be joining in. It just keeps saying "Launching session". Oh well, at least I managed to get in. :(

Either your 360 or the game disc. I'm going to bet on it being the disc. There's no way the install should take more than an hour.

Just got around to completing the story for the second time around. Easily my favorite game of the year and one of the best games I've ever played period. There is something about the ending that drives me nuts though. For most of the final act of the story Trevor does nothing but bitch about how angry he is at Michael. Yes, he lied about what happened ten years ago and almost got Trevor sent to prison, but every other line that comes out his mouth involves him jumping down his and everyone's throat about it. It's really grating.

Still an awesome game. Can't wait to see what Rockstar has in store for it's storyline DLC.

All four. Seriously, Rockstar could just release a hundred heist DLCs in a row and I'd easily shell couple of bucks for each mission if they are as detailed as the heists we already got.

Thinking back to it, I'd also like to see more with the military base. I can only remember there being one mission that involved it was just a heist prep mission at that. I'd also like to see more side missions involving Nigel and Mrs. Thornhill. They were definitely my favorite side mission NPCs. They're crazy as hell, but so adorable. :3: There's something about Trevor helping a sweet old British couple terrorize local celebrities that I find hilarious.

I know this is going to get buried under all the PC hype, but I've been replaying missions today and I never noticed until today that, during the Wrap Up mission, that the GTA4 G-Man guy who shows up at the beginning of the mission sticks around after the shooting starts and that you can kill him. I've been playing this game since it came out on the 360 and I never realized that until today. It still blows my mind how much detail is in this game.
