Hotaru is really neurotic, isn't she? As someone who once broke an elbow skiing though, I found that part of the episode a bit scarier than I should have.

Yup. The BDs pre-orders are selling well though, so hopefully they'll pull out some OVAs or something. I don't think there's a lot of manga to take material from, though. I hope there's some way of perfectly looping that funky moment because goddamn.

Aw, that was sweet. It kind of felt like a call back to the first episode, with them just hanging out and Renge still feeling a bit insecure about living in the country. I still think the first few episodes were the strongest and it was just kinda cute fluff after that, but I enjoyed keeping up with it.

It definitely was, the last shot of the cherry tree budding was the tree the cast visited the first episode. The tone was closer as well, with those long segments of scenery set to music. I got kind of impatient during the first episode, but now that I'm more in tune with the show's wavelength it's actually very calming. Suguru was used wonderfully this episode. He is best cow. Except for a bit of hiccup in episode 5, I thought the show was very good all the way through. The best segments were the more meandering and chilled out ones, essentially everything involving Renge, but the show is stronger for having the older characters and their slightly more complex problems and busier segments (think Yotsuba). Renge kind of became a thing this season so I think that any OVAs and such will probably be mostly her.

 According to this, it seems like there'll be OAD out on the 23rd of July, 2014. I have to admit, I laughed way too much at the pay-off for Renge wondering in the first episode whether or not she actually is living in the country. I didn't even realise all 4 of those came out this year. Kiniro Mosaic wasn't so hot looking back but it's been a pretty good year for Dumb Boring Anime About Nothing Seriously They're Just Talking. I think Yuyushiki was the only one that made me actually laugh out loud a few times, which is pretty rare for anime.
