Yeah, stuff like "Harold & Fred" up there or "The Adventures of Pol Pot & Idi Amin" is a spot on parody of those comics. They sometimes do it more blatantly, like with "Desperately Unfunny Dan" or, after DC Thompson threatened to sue them "DC Thompson: The Humourless Scottish Git".

On it's very best day, the quality of Viz would be charitably described as "all over the loving place". When they're good they're loving amazing but when they're not they're pretty loving dire. Though their written stuff is generally a lot more consistent than the comics.
