Manziel is almost certain losing Mike Evans so that probably increasing his likelihood of declaring.

Tony Pauline posted:

Texas A&M red-sophomore Mike Evans, also a week three riser, turned in another dominant performance on Saturday, with Auburn victimized this time around. Evans numbers were a jaw-dropping 11 receptions, 287-yards and 4 touchdowns. Sources close to the program told me late last week word is Evans will enter the draft. If true don’t be surprised if he’s the first receiver off the board next April.

Evans is gonna be a unique prospect because I feel like half of his catches come from grabbing a floater while standing perfectly still with 3 defenders around him 5 seconds after the ball is snapped. He doesn't seem fast or quick at all, at least NFL fast for WRs. He might legitimately be the heir to Mike Williams.
It'll be interesting to watch the top WR prospects for me since the prevailing talk* is the Jets adding weapons on offense. Right now I think I'd prefer Marqise Lee as the more polished route runner, although he seems to have the injury flags coming up.

Jets will have at least 10 as well. Bucs 3rd rounder plus 3-4 comp picks from the LaRon Landry, Shonn Greene, Mike DeVito, and Dustin Keller group.

The NFL usually only gives 1-2 comp picks out, I thought. I know the Packers will get a decent one from Erik Walden/Greg Jennings at least.
The max they give is 4, although it depends on how many other team are getting them. Idzik was careful to only sign players that had been cut, which don't count against the formula for negating your comp picks.

Is it too early for draft positioning? These SoS ranking are based on full schedules not just games played. Only glitch is Jags 0-8 should be worse than 0-7, however if they end up with the same record, Bucs could conceivably get the #1 with an easier SoS.

Bortles owns but I was thinking late 1st ceiling, likely 2nd or 3rd round if he came out. Could have the highest drafted UCF player since Daunte.

quote:

UCF junior quarterback Blake Bortles reportedly is the No. 1 quarterback on the board for a team likely to draft in the top 10, Sports Illustrated NFL writer Peter King said Sunday night.

Bortles (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) has said he will make an NFL decision after the Knights' appearance in the Jan. 1 Fiesta Bowl against Baylor.

"The fastest-rising quarterback in the first round, should he choose to come out, is fourth-year junior Blake Bortles," the Orlando Sentinel reported King as saying Sunday night during NBC's "Football Night in America" broadcast. "I've spoken to a team that's likely to have a top-10 pick, and they like him better than any quarterback in this draft."

And in his weekly "MMQB" column, King wrote, "I know one team that, as of now, thinks it's no sure thing [Louisville's] Teddy Bridgewater will be the top quarterback on its board. ... Moreover, this team believes Blake Bortles or [Texas A&M's] Johnny Manziel could be the top quarterback on the board."
