I'm still interested and will be around after work to make a character and prepare for the Great Knightly Boar Killing Simulator. Are we going to be setting up an IRC channel for this game?

I think when you're at the point in your campaign where you're using a magic lance against dragons and engaging in day long duels with Fairie Champions to prevent the world from being overrun by the fae, glory gains become somewhat academic at that point.

Question about the bezerkers. I know we can switch to spears without penalty, as per your rule, but do we have enough room to charge them?

I think Bledri just gets a first aid check. So that would be: First Aid 10 exp check: 1d20 16 Passed. So first aid increases to 11. How is it you guys managed to get so many criticals?

ibntumart posted:It's not too late for you to throw out a few more skills. I'm being generous what with it being the first year and knowing what lies ahead for you guys, but will likely be more stingy next time. If you think I deserve any, please tell me. But I didn't cover myself with glory this year, and I don't, in general, feel right nominating myself for any.

I appreciate the thought, Eclectic Tastes. Ok, so first, Glory. I started with 1305 for the year (Actually 305 without the knighting bonus.) Then, as per Ibntumart's calculations, I got 175 glory for the year. Plus, since I'm living as an ordinary knight this year, I get another 22 glory. This brings my total glory to 1403. Now, family events. I rolled a 14, so someone is missing. Who? Well, originally I rolled my father, but he's dead (which explains why we haven't seen him around a lot, but then I rerolled and got my brother, of which I have one. Now, I'm going to roll for skills, which unfortunately, just gives me 2 points, of which, I'll put 1 in spear and 1 in courtesy. Since my glory broke the 1000 mark, I can increase any trait by one. To encourage me to post in this more frequency, I'm going to increase Energetic by 1 point. I still have that £18 ransom. So, since I'm a knight, and knights spend, I'm improving my house....tiling the floor, putting a mosaic on the wall, and building a Mews and Hermitage, so that a hermit can come and pray for my soul. I think that would cost me 10 pounds, right? Here's my revised character sheet: quote:

Minor setbacks! I'm sure that next year, I'll cover myself in glory, maybe by finding somebody's lost dog or something. Nah, luck of the dice. I'm sure the rolls are going to turn around.

I think I get an experience check for Sword (Critting with the coin on the dog) and the loyalty passion, for passing it, right?)? Also, what's our passion level for Loyalty to the Order of the Dog?

Ok, so Winter Phase rolls: Rolling against Sword 15 Loyalty (Earl) 15 Faerie Lore 1 http://orokos.com/roll/207592: 1d20 1 1d20 15 1d20 7 So, I rolled equal to my Loyalty: Earl, which means I don't think it increased. So just a bonus to Faerie Lore then. Family events: Family events: 1d20 5 1d20 1 Bledri finds out his father gets married. This comes as a shock to him, as his father is dead. He asks the messenger to repeat that: Corrected family event: 1d20 2 and the messenger repeats it. His father. "Are you sure?", Bledri asks? The man is sure. Family events; third time's the charm: 1d20 2 Shocked, Bledri takes the piece of paper. It's clear this messenger can't read, because the paper clearly states not that Bledri's father has married, but that he has a new father...his mother has remarried: My father, really?: 1d20 6 This is no less shocking; his mother is also dead. It's not mom either: 1d20 14 Finally, after much confusion, it turns out it's his sister who married. Happy day! Improving Energetic to 15, and putting my extra skill point into sword. I'm just spending normal maintenance, and my glory goes up by 141 because of events, plus 6 for normal maintenance, 16 for prudence, and 18 for the Knights of the Hound, bringing my glory up to 1584. I almost started courting this season, but for whatever reason (mostly posting laziness), I missed most of winter court. And I'm sure my "That bastard Merlin tricked us into fighting supernatural beasts so he could give that magic sword to you, King Uther, which you really don't need and shouldn't use." speech probably didn't impress the ladies much.

I'd be pretty frightened if I saw a beaver who proceeded to bite off its own testicles and throw them at me. Also, more specifically, the pelican is a Jesus allegory. The pelican kills its young after it gets tired of them constantly hitting it. Then, 3 days later, stabs itself, bleeds on them, and brings them back to life. It's like God who kills mankind because we disobeyed, with the whole garden of Eden thing, and then sacrifices Himself to restore us to live through His shedding of blood. I haven't really been posting because it seems like Briant is saying everything we need to say. If I say something, I'll probably start a war with them or something, given my brilliant speeches in the past. You're our spokesman. Keep speaking for us. And I don't think anybody actually believes you're fudging rolls. Briant's just a lucky bastard.

If anybody here got the Pendragon rules from DrivethruRPG, you can now download the new version for free. It's the same rules, but after a successful kickstarter, they were able to republish the book in Spain with updated artwork, and now they the newer artwork with the English version of the rules.
