Ugg, that trailer. I'm trying to resist getting an Xbone, that crap is making it difficult.

A few weeks ago I cancelled my preorder and replaced it with a preorder of GT6 since I already have a PS3 and a wheel that will work with it. That preview has convinced me I made a huge mistake. I'll wait for the wheel situation to settle down (need an H-pattern shifter and clutch). FM5 will still be there when the wheel support arrives.

I have two Xbones on pre-order, and for the low, low price of retail + $400 you can have my second one (and subsidize my new thrustmaster wheel!) (Holy god that trailer)

I really want this game, but I don't want the system that it's on. Very conflicted. I'll just have to admire all of the user made screenshots that will be hitting the internet in less then a month.

I'm not sure why people are hesitant to buy a console that lets them play the game they want to play. Isn't that the point?

I didn't want an Xbox and then Forza came along, I didn't want a 360 and then Forza 3 came along. Now it's happening again. Dammit Forza.

I see no reason to buy the console that costs $100 more, is less powerful and won't work with any peripherals I bought for its predecessor just for Forza.

One of the ways I tried to talk myself out of buying an Xbone was the aforementioned "why would I buy it for only 1 game?!" then I remember the only reason I picked up a 360 was for Forza 2, but that wasn't a launch title so I didn't feel so dirty...That said I've got 2 PS3s I can sell, and between those and my games I think I can at least cut the cost of this thing in half.

Forza has been THE console racing game of the last generation. If you're big into racing games, that's absolutely worth buying a $500 console for, even if you never buy another game for it (and once you have it, you will).

The fact that I can't use my fanatec wheel was the last straw for not getting an xbone for me. I'm not spending 500(console)+60(game)+300-400(wheel)+50(season pass dlc) for one game. Oh and I forgot about getting xbox live.

Same here. Forza is the ONLY reason for me getting an Xbox One. I will not be able to use the camera since my office is tiny and I have a steering wheel setup (for ps3) in it and an arcade cabinet. But knowing this gen might see another 4 to 5 forza games, it would be worth it. Also the free live games.

Well, you can say that; but there are many cross-platform sports games that I play exclusively on consoles. Don't misunderstand, I will buy a PS4 also, and GT6 when it comes out (no matter how much it loving sucks.) FPS games I play solely on PC. Sports games I play on consoles. "Killer apps" I think about, but Halo never did it for me (see my previous comment about FPS games) and but for GT there is no "killer app" on the PS now that Tekken is cross-platform. My main concern is getting an XBone, a wheel, and playing FM5. Everything else comes after. Cannot Find Server posted:Most games worth playing will be multiplatform, just as they were this past gen. Okay, a few things from that trailer. 1) The what I can assume is the official Forza theme sounds lovely and I want a copy. 2) Details. Details everywhere. Such as the Plymouth's engine moving under load when revving (you see it's ram air scoop move). 3) The sounds, good god. The off-throttle Lotus E21 sounds pornographic. I got to play a bit of it today when I went to a Microsoft Store to ask about my phone getting fixed, apparently set it up that day, and while I'm not getting an Xbox One, it runs really nicely. Laguna Seca is absolutely gorgeous in game. I did have one issue with it, there was a lot of aliasing in the cars, much more than I would expect. I don't know if it was the TV or not but it didn't really look all that great when it was showing off the cars at the starting line. From what I played of it, it's better than the last Forza I played, which wasn't Horizon. Granted it was only 20-30 minutes. Unfortunately, old men in wheelchairs don't actually appear on the track. Ford Focuses, however, do appear on the track. Ostentatious fucked around with this message at 09:22 on Nov 6, 2013 |

The gap in power between the consoles is gigantic. We've been through these console launches before (over and over and over by now), and we both know that specs on paper (or the first launch game offerings) do not equal any real insight into what the console can or will do in its lifetime. The gap in power is not anything like "gigantic." In every case the true power of the console comes from the people who write the code. The consoles are, in fact, essentially equal. Time and games will bear this out. Not that it matters much to me, because I'll own both consoles regardless. But when it comes time to buy the next Rockstar game or EA Sports title, it won't matter which console I buy it on, because they'll be identical.

Puttin my two cents in despite it not being relevant to Forza really but the PS4 actually is better then the Xbone in power, power however doesn't always mean it will be better which is what I think Faustus meant to say. Anyways majority of console gamers who AREN'T fanboys what will matter to them is who has the better lineup of exclusive games to help them decide what system they will get or get first. Also in case anyone SOMEHOW is STILL not aware of this GT6 is releasing on the PS3 but NOT the PS4.
