I am a dummy and was subtracting essence for stuff installed in cybereyes and ears. Sucks because I would have spent more on sensor stuff. Looks like I now have a very generous 0.4 Essence left and I think my newfound humanity will cause me to get a puppy.

I then found this while googling for any other excel sheets, copied it, saved the copy on my own GDrive, then filled it out. It ain't Chummer, but it gets the job done rather nicely. Note that the first does not list anything from the books - everything has to be filled out yourself. What it DOES do, is do all the actual math and number crunching. Which for me was all I needed it to do, to be honest.

Oh man, I feel like I'm asking too many questions, but this being my first game, I probably should. Can Action skills also double as Knowledge skills in certain cases, or would I have to, for example, take Cybertech as both an Action skill and a Knowledge skill?
