It took me awhile to figure out the playstation was automatically updating games in the background without even prompting me with a message like the PS3 did. I can play TDM fine right now in BF4.

Woulda sat there for three hours if I was at work.

I believe headsets that work via a physical USB are supposed to work with the 1.50 update.

Managed to grab the last PS4 from a desolate KMart this morning. Yay. Does anyone know if Sony plans to make purchases made with PSN accounts on the PS3 available for the PS4? For instance, it would be nice to play some of the indie games I bought over the years on the PSN on the PS4.

AC4 has unlockable cheats. Interesting. I figured last gen's achievements killed them for good. I hope other games include them.

Some will give you a ported version for free (Flower), some will charge you a small fee well below retail price (some disc games), and some will not do either of these and just not work. The PS4 is not natively backwards compatible with PS3 software.

Apparently my system auto-downloaded the 1.5 patch as I set up. That's cool, but it's been sitting on "Preparing to install" for several minutes while now. Does this typically take a while, or should I take some kind of action?

After nearly 3 hours I got through to service. The girl said they had been having quite a few issues, take that for what it's worth. In my case, I get to wait 3-5 days for a box and then another week for a new system. I guess I'll be getting it around Thanksgiving when I'm out of town. That's more in line with my luck.

Really surprised how quick and smooth setup was for me. I did lose connection once when setting up my PSN account but other than that nothing really to complain about. Been playing some AC4 and it looks awesome.

I think as games have got more complicated being able to cheat can potentially allow you to gently caress up scripting in games or otherwise lead you into an unwinnable state. Apparently the fast movement cheat in Uncharted 2 could let you get to places before they've loaded, for example. I do wish a few more games would take the extra time to add in a few cheats, like you say they're fun to mess around with.

Anyone managed to bypass their issues? I'm at the point where the capacitive button turns it on once but then I can't do safe mode, I can't really turn it off without the power cord.

Really like that the streaming is generally working, its interesting to see how the PS4 will grow over the months and years ahead. Before I commit (Got a backlog the size of Olympus to deal with first) I've been reading on GAF (Argh my eyes, etc) that a lot of people are having hardware problems (White Light Of Death) and poo poo like that. Anyone having similar issues? I know some of my friends will be getting PS4s and I don't want to see them dissapointed with hardware failures. Oh, and more Uncharted is a hell yeah for me. Didn't like how it got hyped up to high heaven though, but it got them ratings.
