Funkmaster General posted:Go to chapter select and choose overtime. If you don't approach the mission market you'll have infinite time to gently caress around (plus night/late game so tons of zombies to murder). Alternatively just load up any other chapter and ignore all the quests, since collectables are shared between playthroughs. Thanks! Collectives are shared unless they're somewhere inaccessible plane collector's house, apparently.

Is the number of vehicle combos being 11 an error? My list had 10/11 (when I only had 9) and then unlocking the secret combo at level 50 just left me at 10/11 still. I'm also having trouble with a few of the PP challenges not registering. The drink creation is stuck at 37/50 and the junk car doesn't register any kills.

How do you get rid of a survivor, i've had a chick following me round for about 45 minutes, she's pretty handy but she eats a lot of food.

The ultimate cone shout thingy combo is the most ridiculous awesome and powerful weapon in the history of Dead Rising. Hitting the Y attack on that thing pretty much levels every zombie within 100ft of you in a 180degree arc in front of you. Also, mini chainsaws are back! Love it. Not nearly as useful as Ultimate Mecha Dragon or grim reaper or electroice staff or what have you, but still good and a great nostalgic nod. Also, don't sleep on upgrading your ranged stuff to get those ammo upgrades just because you rightly think firearms suck. The ranged ammo upgrade works on pretty much everything that has an ammo counter -- not just firearms. That reminds me, split shot is amazing and ZAR aint so bad either with piercing bullets. So while stock firearms are kinda poo poo the combos are pretty cool.

I completed Nightmare mode last night and got ending C. I've seen S and C, and read up about F, so wonder if there are any others. The most overpowered weapon I've found are the acid jars (although I'm level 50). On nightmare mode I stocked up on about fifty of them. Zombies move away from the others directly affected by them too. Same with the Acid Rain. E: I want that Reindeer mask and New Year hat that the challenges are offering but they don't start for a few weeks. I hope one of the DLCs is announced soon-ish despite the game only being a few weeks old.

Only made it just past the first psychopath, but I'm having a great time with this so far. I don't like the colour pallet or setting much (malls are more fun), but the shear number of zombies on the screen at once is loving crazy. BTW how do i kill zombies on the ground? Mashing x doesn't work...

My second favorite is when you duct tape a HDTV to some plates and come out with a lightsaber.

Yeah, the ZAR is way too awesome for its own good. You can stun lock any boss with it, it makes a great weapon for squad mates. I only have the extra ammo power in the ranged tree, but I can clear a street sized hole in a swarm of end game nighttime zombies in a matter of seconds. I can only imagine the reaping that happens with the rest of the upgrades. That would all be fine if you couldn't make it from scrub tier poo poo weapons or dip into a safe house and grab half a dozen out of the locker. Maybe have the ZAR be the combo of the machine gun and the sawed off or something, those are less trivial to find large piles, or at least have them take an even bigger chunk out of the weapon locker supplies. Typical layout is a flaming sword or two and as many ZARs as I can carry. Having beat the game and gotten the S ending on the first try, why the hell was nightmare mode not the default? What's this not having to restart the outbreak if you die poo poo? Coming from the first two games and then playing the game on normal, there's no time pressure at all. I see the "quality of life changes" they were going for, but I'm not sure if they actually did anything but make the game less fun to a series vet. I can imagine the shock and horror awaiting those that cut their teeth on this installment and then try out the first two. At least they kept that ol' Capcom storyline insanity intact. Still loving fun.

A full posse of people with gold guns pretty much means you can ignore all the zombies around while trying to figure out how many buildings over you need to go to get on the roof of some store for a plan/statue. I don't care if using boss guns is cheaty or what, it's awesome.

Yeah seriously, I'll frequently just have like four in my inventory and make more every time I find some guns. There's basically no situation where it's not one of the best choices. And it becomes crazy easy to make once you get the "any two guns" upgrade.

Yeah, these become very useful once you've got a number of upgrades because it becomes vastly easier to find parts for a combo weapon.

Mecha Dragon Blade and Grim Reaper are hilariously amazing. Electric Staff if you want to feel like Thor. got a bonus up to 400pp/zombie just mowing through using the Grim Reaper at night. Funtimes. Comedy option is the Super Massager. 1 Shot kill on most zombies, even at night and they are super tough. Uses a "massager" and a leaf blower and makes something that looks like a combination of American Gladiators and a Tim Burton movie. The sloppy sound it makes

Boom Bear is my fave. Also inre to the Companion App on SmartGlass. Anybody have trouble getting it to work? It worked one time for me and was actually kinda fun. Now however if I go into it, it just sits there at the screen with the ZDC seal in the background and the "home" button. But the home button won't work. Nothing happens.

BonoMan posted:edit: This game is pretty drat fun. Another quick question... I was having trouble getting the gestures to work to shake zombies off. They worked fine at first, but as soon as it gets harder I couldn't get the shaking gestures to work (and felt like I was going to shake my controller apart). Now when a Zombie grapples me, it's a button push to get them off instead of a shake. Guess it determined that I couldn't get the shake gestures to work? This is a bug I think, and I've had it happen a few times. If you pause the game and go watch TV or into friends or whatever for an extended period of time, when you go back into the game, the motion gestures and voice commands stop working. It's kind of a pain in the rear end, but other games have similar bugs. In AC4, if you go out of the game and your controller turns off, then you turn it back on and go back into the game, the game sticks at the "please reconnect controller" screen and will never see your controller.

In the last two Dead Risings there was a very useful command to send your survivors to a waypoint which they would then defend. Is there anyway to do that in DR3? It seems every time I run around with a gang of survivors as soon as the fighting stops they all get separation anxiety and must stand as close as humanly possibly to me as I try and pick something up off the ground (and then bitch and moan when I try and push them out of the way). It's getting to the point where I usually end up going with only 3 survivors just to cut down on crowd control (and to keep from limiting myself to vans everytime I need to grab a car).
