This is an old run-down movie theatre in a near-by industrial city. Always wanted to go there. Seems I got lucky, since they're bringing heavy equipment to the place to presumably tear it down. For those who loved Jiro Kage's post back on the first page, there's a little documentary on Netflix called "Abandoned America" and it's worth a watch. They also get some really cool shots and video of Hunter's Point.

They're hung from the ceiling and can be pulled up and down by the chains that lead to some wall. The workers put their clothes in and raised it to the ceiling. Apparently they thought this'd be more practical than lockers back in the day. Here's a picture from someone else showing the other side of the chains (different mine, tho): https://www.flickr.com/photos/51964574@N07/8112472893

Holy moly, there's some great stuff here! Sorry for abandoning ( ) the thread. Been through a bit of a slump, photographically speaking. Haven't been able to work on any of my projects either, due to a super busy work season. This is Patarei Prison In Tallinn, Estonia Amazingly this place was still in use until 2004, the inside of the place was like a fridge even though i was there in the summer, The atmosphere of the whole place was very depressing, On top of these pictures i also saw the execution room but i wasn't really comfortably taking photos of a blood stained floor The outside of the prison: DSC03993 by scott1928, on Flickr DSC04006 by scott1928, on Flickr These windows looked out to the sea DSC04003 by scott1928, on Flickr DSC03978 by scott1928, on Flickr DSC03987 by scott1928, on Flickr more info here: http://coldwarsites.net/country/estonia/patarei-prison-tallinn/ Skam fucked around with this message at 00:20 on Jan 24, 2015 |

That escalator somehow triggers flashbacks to Battlefield Earth. I'm too afraid to rewatch the movie to see whether it's the same mall.

Apparently they thought this'd be more practical than lockers back in the day. This is months old, but the baskets are far better than lockers! That room is what's called a Dry (at least where I work at). Mining underground is hard work, you be soaked with sweat or water at the end of the shift. By keeping stuff in baskets the clothes will dry out in time for the next shift (the room is normally kept hot and well ventilated to help with that).

Actually a drat shame about that place. From what I can tell from older galleries from other people, it was way cleaner than that just over half a year ago. The entry hall even had some small chandelier.

Excellent work everyone!
