anyone excited about the kickstarter for a turbo killer / blood machine short film? I paid enough for the carpenter brut soundtrack and digital movie download.

I hope it raises enough for a feature. The turbo killer video is seriously crazy multilayered meanings and possibilities all for a 4 minute instrumental synthwave track. I want to see what they can do with a feature length movie.

I am just really amazed at what they did with model cars and a green screen. There were no real cars in that video clip; blows my mind.

Some other band called B / I / R / T / H / D / A / Y whom I have not seen live, but sounds promising.

How about some new wave from when it really was new? I'm primarily stuck on that sort of thing, post punk and 'new' wave, and being from Serbia I know a huge amount of bands operating all over Yugoslavia in the 80s. Think we really kicked rear end as far as music goes in that time period, so I'll drop some representative stuff down.

Videosex - modern-day Slovenia

No way you can talk about new wave in Yugoslavia without mentioning this band. Anja Rupel was(is) adored and they are icons of the new wave movement.

Videosex - Detektivska prica (live)

I am really digging videosex. This is a good post.

A human heart posted:

This is a good post about cool music(that videosex album rules) but it's going to be lost on most of this thread because they want to talk about corny contemporary synth stuff made by computer programmers rather than actual new wave.

This is not a good post. Shut up, douchebag.
