Something about this feels kinda hinky
One Shot RPG is a really fun show that does just what the name promises. Just jump around, it's all good. I guested in the most recent pair, Police Cops: Brooklyn Alaska parts 1 and 2.

This is awesome, listened to the Muppets and Scooby Doo-Cthulu episodes. It's amazing how good they are at the in-character voices.

I thought your name sounded familiar. Great episodes, as usual, very funny. I will be checking out your 13th Age stuff as well.

NPC CAST have added two actual plays. They completed a Dungeon World adventure and they are currently delving into Nights Black Agents.

Found another one I really enjoy. Knights of the Night. The KotN guys have two major campaign arcs of nWoD Hunter and Dresden Files under their belt. They also took a break from urban fantasy to play Numenera and Dungeon World.

The episodes run around an hour. The beginning few minutes are devoted to listener feedback, but you can skip directly to the action by reading the podcast info. The actual plays are very well edited. The include music for each scene and later episodes have sound effects to augment the action.

I highly recommend the beginning of the 'Delivery' arc because they go into detail about how to build a city communally with the Dresden Files RPG system.

A goon turned me on to Nerd Poker, in which comedian Brian Posehn and his group of decade-long friends play D&D completely obliterate the DM’s campaign plans ever week for about an hour. Seriously. At the end of twenty very amusing episodes I am getting sympathetic to the DM Sark’s plight. Since Sark constantly has to throw campaign plans out the window for these wisecracking screwballs, much of what he designs is on the fly, so some episodes are a bit slow.

However, it is very funny very often. From what I have listened to they are playing a 4th edition D&D campaign with heavy influence from 3.5…because they didn’t really start to read the books until episode 15 or so.

If you want something that is well produced and feels like your college buddies getting together to crack wise and roll some dice, then this is for you. It is not heavy on plot or continuity. Make sure you listen to episodes one and two fully before making a verdict on this one.

The story about levitating a mall Santa had me crying laughing.

The indefatigable Grey Hunter is running an Only War campaign and because he is really a multitasking cephalopod in disguise, decided to throw in some Pendragon as well.

Pendragon is old school fantasy by way of King Arthur.

Seriously, Grey needs to run his own broadcasting company or something.

Re: Nerd Poker

It was mostly based off of D&D 2e. The current episodes have Blaine Capatch as the DM as Sark just had a baby. They eventually switched back to 2e, as it was the system they were most familiar with. It makes sense too, as they almost never had maps or did really tactical fights. Still an excellent podcast. I listen every week.

<REDACT> THIS!
I recently gave Nerd Poker a try - I could not get past the nonstop rape jokes in the second or third episode. It was relentless and it turned my stomach.

It sucks, because they're funny people, but I just could not deal with the awful poo poo they were saying.

I don't remember that at all, but you're justified in not liking it. It's sophomoric humor at best. Basically the same type of banter I'd expect from nerds who understand comedic timing.

Second episode, for sure. It was a little much, definitely.

I tried to listen to Nerd Poker but I just found it super boring. I have that problem with most actual plays though.
