Season Premiere - Tuesday January 14 at 9 EST/8 CST If you're new, here's the drill: 15 aspiring special effects makeup artists enter, one leaves with a bunch of cash/fame, and we get to see some cool and not-so-cool stuff happen in the process. Each episode the contestants are given a topic and they have to design, sculpt, mold, cast, apply and paint/detail a full body prosthetic makeup in just three days. Unlike other reality shows everyone is generally nice to each other and will often pitch in to help contestants who fall behind which is a major factor in why we love the show so much.  But three days is a very short time to create a full prosthetic so some will rise to the challenge and others will end up sending hilariously incomplete works up before the judges. As the only reality show I watch I'll go ahead and declare this the best reality show on TV. I'm glad there's such a small break in between seasons, I genuinely love this show.

I agree with you on all 3, just judging by appearances. But I also hated Zorg at first since he looks like a douche. He turned out to have a hell of a lot of personality and wasn't a douche at all. It looks like they took the pictures while the contestants were actually working, though. So the photographer could have just come up and said, "Smile!" and that was the best the contestants could muster while they were trying to get work done and it ended up making them look like they were smirking instead. Just saw a preview for this season, and I'm excited. I thought it was funny that they said "surprise destinations" and then showed a contestant screaming "Konichiwa" followed by a shot of a bunch of taiko drummers. Way to ruin the surprise. Lauren's final looks were loving awesome. So glad she got the win last season.
