I was just surfing through 2013 games on mlb.tv and had forgotten how badly the Pirates stomped the Reds in the wildcard game. Then I remember that Choo is with the Rangers now and we are supposedly bringing up Billy Hamilton to replace him in the leadoff spot.

I am excited about the beginning of the season. Not as excited about what Cincinnati has done in the off season. I keep feeling like they are a team that has been almost great for the past few seasons but not great enough.

This month the first games will be played! Possibly enough that many like me get sick of it and just want meaningful baseball to start.

i like to read while i think, your idea is good but its not quite there yet, this plan is getting more filled but still needs alot of planning and work done to it

Crazy excited, even though who loving knows who's going to be pitching for the Rangers besides Darvish and Perez. I just want to see baseballs go over fences and I don't want to see Yu lose 1-0 ever again.

Cautiously optimistic. The bullpen is garbage okay I guess but the Fister trade ruled.

Seriously though, I'm not sure how to feel about the Nats. They look even better than last year, but have no bench and I worry about the bullpen. Rumors had them trying to move Storen, who appears to be broken since that last game in '12, and losing faith in Soriano.

Also, the promotional schedule came out the other day. There are seven(!) bobblehead days and a Jason Werth garden gnome day, too! Good or bad this year, guess I'm gonna see'em eight times anyway.

The Nats bench added Nate McClouth, which I think is much better than trotting out Lombardozzi or Moore into left field in case of an injury (Werth in particular hasn't been the healthiest). I guess bench players always have this sort of unpredictable factor, but I'm also cautiously optimistic about how guys will compete for spots. If things really pan out, maybe Danny Espinosa will remember how to hit a baseball again.

At least Zach Duke and Henry Rodriguez are gone. Don't know what a Jerry Blevins is quite yet but I also don't know how Nats expected to get far through the year without more reliable lefties.

Hard to be excited when your owner is Satan himself and the team hasn't really improved much since last year. We're basing all of our hope on the rookies, which could very well backfire this year since some of them could have bad sophomore years.

This is random, but I was looking around the internets at overpriced rubble priceless mementos from the Old Yankee Stadium. Apparently, the Good and Gracious Yankee Overlords have smiled upon even you, the lesser fans of subservient teams. For a mere $525, you can have a four foot tarp covered in dirt, stale beer, and probably feces featuring the logo of YOUR team. Of course, to make it worthwhile, it carries that inexorable link to the House That Ruth Built.

Otherwise who cares about your lovely team and their lovely logo?

For the Rays I'm hella excited, I'm a pretty big fan of what they did this offseason aside from a few things (the Torres trade, re-signing Loney was questionable but 1B FAs were trash this year so eh) and sentimentally I'm thrilled they kept Price. As for the Cubs

I'm pretty sure that the Pirates' process of acquiring an aging, all glove backup catcher and the corpse of Edison Volquez, while simultaneously not extending a QO to arguably the best starting pitcher on the team last season or addressing the glaring hole at first base, are the kind of genius moves that will really put them over the top this year.
