Actually, Sterv technically is female in this screenshot! I had to download a body mod. Not for the bra, but so that the mod that replaces female dresses with the male pants would work properly, because of course there's no way that poo poo would work with the base game.

Now I'm off to delete and reinstall Oblivion before I get on some kind of list.

This isn't the last armored bra we'll see in the series, incidentally. D. W. Bradley, the man behind this game, seems to have a thing for battle bras, given how they've cropped up in a couple other games of his in addition to this trilogy.

One of the art leads for Guild Wars 2 actually talked about this when designing the female version of that game's female race. Early versions were conventional catgirls, but eventually the lady in charge of that particular design gave the other developers a choice: go with no visible boobs, or six. According to her blog post about it, the developers went with the former approach rather than have to make armor for a six-boob model.

Characters have a limited carry weight. They can safely be put in the swag bag, because there IS a limited amount of space for usable things (except for stuff like bard instruments), so you have to select what you want to be able to use in battle.

So far I haven't used anything, really, except for STERV's instruments, and the ranged weapon consumables.

To the west on this room there was a fountain. To the right there was another.

Well, crap.

: "My innards are liquifying! DO SOMETHING, anyone!"
: "UNTIL YOU LOSE A LIMB, I CAN DO NOTHING BUT MITIGATE THE EFFECTS. I AM UNABLE TO HEAL SUCH A THING. IT MAKES YOU DEAD SLOWLY, INSTEAD OF IN ONE GO."
: "Words really can't express how painful this is."

Let's see what's on the eastern side.

: "Delicious!"
: "Next time please make him taste it first. MY STOMACH WANTS TO BE OUTSIDE MY BODY."

Can we do anything with the central altar? May have something to do with the knife!
Except that does nothing. Let's search.

BUttons!
There are 3 buttons and it takes several button presses. It seems to be a password of some sort. We don't have the password. It's 3 buttons, and 4 inputs. A button can be pressed several times.
We need to find that combination.
Let's try another room.

"The books have totally deteriorated, and it is impossible to read them. A few howerver have legible titles and you look them over:"

: "THE TOME'S PAGES ARE ALL STUCK TOGETHER. IT IS UNREADABLE."

Yum, cabbage.

: "You never know when something is going to throw decapitating saw wheels at you."

It was vorpal blades. SNAKE did not disarm it succesfully. That's the result.

: "Ow. "

DETPOPE gets the book. Like the log.

And SNAKE being the keymaster, gets the key. Hopefully something interesting shall be unlocked with it.

A switch here!

Neat. A secret passage

While SNAKE is getting better he still fails a bunch of these. This door took two reloads. But hey, it works. It is not too annoying. Saving anywhere is a good thing.

To be honest the scope of Wizardry 8 is MUCH larger than 6 or 7. It's just that the puzzles are much harder in 6/7 and the interface is more difficult so they take longer to actually play. I really just want a good western wizardry 9. But because some japanese shovelware company bought it, and wizardry 8 was an undeniable flop, it's gone for good.

Update 18

Very well let's advance. This took a while because I am a terribl person that takes too long to update things.

Will this work?

Of course it would not. This key will not work for this door. It is kind of annoying.

Goin' down because stuffs are not working here.

Maybe through here?

Of course not. It does not work on here.

Where could it open something?

Maybe the jail!

NOPE. I tried all doors! And not one worked.

Not on this one .

Maybe on this one? Because the one on the right is the skull without gem-eyes door.

It worked!

And of course, the door melted the key.

: "WHAT ARE THESE UNDESCIPHERABLE SQUIGGLES. I AM NOT ABLE TO READ THIS TEXT. "
: "King had really bad handwriting."

Hm, switches! Let's press it without a care in the world, surely something good comes from it.

Uh
nothing happened.

Oh goody! Doors, and holes. And a weird looking tile. I WONDER IF THAT TILE IS IMPORTANT.

And it turns out it IS. It made the next floor tile disappear.

Fell down. No damage. Shackles!

: "SNAKE! SNAAAAAAAAAAKE! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!"
: "ARRRRRRRGHhhg you made my ears ring!"

Is this a boss? It is taking very long to kill.

Is STERV with a bra more or less irritating?

You can't make it sleep though.

But it seems like cold does a decent amount of damage.

Aaagh.

That would've easily killed TINYSAN at the start of the game. Daaamn.

Eventually it dies.

OH NO, another one! It was not a boss! I guess this could be used for grinding.
But after beating him, going through that doorway leads to...

Uh. Upstairs?

Upstairs there is a switch! Maybe it will prevent one from falling.

And it does, it fills up one of the holes.

Through THAT portal, there is another button.

And that fills the tile on the other side.

Mmhmm.

Same through the right. Now the middle is also filled. And there is a button!

Ooooh, TREASURE.

OH NO
that can be a trap? FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

One reload later, I decide not to bother with the trap. MONMOON takes care of it with a level 3 knock-knock. Hell yase.

EVERYTHING seems DETHPOPE-ish. So he gets it.

This is a single cast scroll thing, if it was a book he could learn the spell. Eh.

Hmm.

The VICAR OF CORPSES. He gets to use this. Unless the B that is green is Bard. Every race can use it though! Also I should probably switch classes soon. Level 7 a good place?

MONMOON gets to analize the AMULET OF NIGHT.

Oh! 10 charges of Blinding Flash! Neat.

Going back to this part. I should resize the mapper a bit so everything shows up fine. Doesn't matter much though.

GOAT.

GOAT.

FIREBALL.

For changing classes, you want to change pretty much as soon as you qualify for one of the "advanced" classes. I.e. Samauri, Lord, Valkyrie, Ninja. You may want to go back and read the big post I made about the subject.

If you hit 9 or 10 and still don't qualify, then you would go for a lower power chain of classes. I.e. Ranger to something to an advanced class. Levelling past 10 is certainly not worth it, even past 9 is not really worthwhile. All you miss out on by doing lower powered classes is having to grind a lot more later on.

I did a minimum of 4 and sometimes as many as 8 class changes for my primary spell casters on my run through, nearly all advanced class changes, everyone ninja at least once, and it was still really hard.

Huh. That is a good thing.

Oh. Nevermind.

This isn't too hard now.

Uh. Haven't we seen this message before?

Oh. Yes we have.
And the south door is CLOSED.
Well drat.

But let's just move ahead. There's things to explore, even if we cannot go back now.

Same tileset.

Mmhm. Can't do poo poo yet.

: "HAZARD? THERE IS NO HAZARD THAT SHALL PREVENT US FROM OUR QUARRY."
: "I could probably help with that if I knew what it smelled like..."
: "Maybe if STERV smelled less.."
: "I resent that!"

Let's move a bit.

I think I haven't hosed up the mapping too much so far! Also I should probably change the drat theme. Again.

Entering the Hazard area. Why is it called that? I don't get it. So far.

Is this the reason? They are not THAT hazardous.

Tiresome, if anything.

Squared rooms.

Twist and turny.

It's a bit too monochrome though. I AM getting a bit bored of the castle walls tileset thing.
Strangely though, I don't feel like this is tiresome. It is fresh to me, maybe that is why.
Unlike Strange Journey.
I don't regret starting that but it is gonna take me a while since it is a chore by now.

Rooms, rooms rooms.

The enemies are not too bad.

: "If only we had a tool appropriate for the situation..."
: "Yes. But everything in this operation is procure on site. "
: "LACK OF PREPARATION. IT WILL NOT BE THE DEATH OF US."

Mmmhmm.

: "TOOLS WOULD BE USEFUL HERE AS WELL."

A key of spades is not useful.

And it cannot be knocked out.

I prefer the Dragon Quest slimes, to be honest.

What can I say? It is kind of mazey here.

Well, this is new.

Fortunately, something that is NOT happening to the party.

: "A TOOL!"

Appropriate.

Oh! Gross zombies.

: "RETURN TO WHENCE YOU CAME"

: "VADE RETRO"

Well, it works.

Exploration! Mapping!

GROSS ZOMBIES.

DETPOPE is sure pulling his weight now. I knew making him powerful over undeads would be a good idea.

MONMOON became a visionist. 4 skill points is not good, but not terrible. I did not save in a while so those level ups are the best I could get for that.

Eh.

Sane mind. Hopefully that'll be useful. Hold monsters might be. Would mindread be a good choice for the next level up?

Ah, that is probably gonna be used in the jail. Good.

Let's use the TOOL.

TREASURE!

Yeah that looks unsafe.

Oh.

Balls, too. That was not a reload. That was just using a level 2 knock-knock after the level 3 failed. Hahaha.
