The Key of the Lost unlocks a door that leads to a decent treasure and the third cylinder of ash right in that area, it's harmless otherwise. The merchant isn't affected by that at all. The X mark leads to a quest item that is needed for a quest that'll provide yet another item that you might need to continue depending on how you start the endgame. Following through with that quest will indeed disable the merchant. Save that for until you're done with the River Styx area.

There's a caveat for the cylinders of ash, too: Turning them in gives a bonus at one point, and you might want to wait with that until you're mostly done with the level-grinding. E: Also, let me know when I'm being too spoilery, please.

Update 81 Well, we ain't touching this then. Not yet anyway. Let's continue with the exploration. Isle of the keep, eh? Let's see. A tropic woman. Not a tropical woman. Oh well. Could use some more storage. A little bit more is needed. But how much later would it be? Nothing we already do not have. Even this samurai sword. Yes, that is what storage facilities are for. But WHAT KIND OF THINGS. none of the keys seem to open this door. Maybe with a knock knock spell. Maybe next time. Tiny storage island. Flying on water.It is pretty neat, but the flying carpet logo is not animated. Well, there is this as well. That did not work. We need a different key. A level up! Tinklee has maximum thaumaturgy. Maybe she should become better at theosophy. And of course I get the moment where the spell was blacked. Oh well. I think it was resurrection. And Tinklee can become a thief of a bard, which is not ideal. Maybe she should become an alchemist again. DETPOPE shall become a ranger. Skeleton ranger. He already had the gear for it. I still have no idea what this is for. Bah! Full exploration! Dang river. And I am an idiot. I summoned charron. He mentioned ashes. I gave him the ashes. The first one, he gave back gold. The second, he increased stats. The third gave a key. He said that he could not take the ashes himself. So he gave a key. And I, idiotically, captured the MAP. FOR AROUND 30 GODDAMN IMAGES. And now I cannot remember the other things done, besides Charron. But we now have the key of the dead. And we can use it on that door.

Go back to the merchant lady - her stock resets every time you go talk to her, and she can have some useful gear. Also word of advance warning: Plot happens in the Isle of the Dead. And there are a few very tough bosses in there.

Update 82 Moving ahead. There must be something in there. Ominous, innit? Of course, the key given by Charron works. Hooray. It is infested with crabs. That is very underwhelming. Not a terribad level up, but not ideal either. But immediatey after that, points in EVERYTHING. That is fantastic. TINKLEE gets antimagic. Going to be useful Lots of dead people. Oh no! Even if not at full power, DETPOPE carries the fight. Fairly satisfied, honestly. Will probably make him a priest again. Can always use more spells. Advancing. It seems the map is shared with the other crypts. Hmm, there might be something here. Uh, Ithink that should be "in memoriam". Dang, Detpope cannot oneshot these. Charron gave us the key to return the ashes. So let's do that. And the door opens! Ooooh, spooky.

I'm not surprised at the damage Nuclear Blast is doing. If there's one thing Fallout 4 has taught me, it's that giant mutant crabs are very resistant to radiation.

Spellcasting is somewhat counter-intuitive: The spells you can select at level-up depend on the magic skills and chosen character class, the maximum casting level depends on the character's level. To cast a massively damaging Nuclear Blast, the character casting it needs to be of a high enough level as well. On top of that, the spell can fizzle, and some enemies can randomly resist it. To use the big nukes more or less reliably, you need at least two characters that are able to cast them.

Update 83 Well, let's go to the Hall of the Dead. It sounds auspicious! Lots of corpses! But does not seem to have much in the ways of treasure. Hmmm. What could it be? Yeeeah, no. The game has stopped loving around. iT IS serious NOW. tHAT IS MORE LIKE IT. mUCH MORE LIKE IT. But I like it here! Not a bad level up. That'll work. Having multiple people that could banish the drat demons will be useful. THIS is a ridiculous dick move. I could nor find any switches to prevent it. And this kills detpope. loving hell. And after that a LARGE encounter. The solution was to cast armor shield on Detpope before stepping. But that still leaves a pretty difficult encounter! So, reload, rest, try the fight. Not particularly strong. Dang. Truly, those are the moves as shown by Travolta. A disco zombie. Now the zombie is dead. Like disco. Or is that a thing again? I do not know. oH WHAT THE gently caress. My main damage dealers a re the mages! AND IMMEDIATELY an encounter! What can be done? Beat the poo poo out of it with everything. It dies. Again. The halls of the dead have a lot of dead people. Dangit! There may be something here! And this door. The key of the damned does not work. Maybe it is in one of these alcoves. That will take a while.

I thought I would be over with an university course I am taking, but nope that will probably be over this weekend, so still on hiatus because of that. Also it does not help that the moments where I actually play something are used in warframe instead of this but again, almost done with the thing. Apparently , my week starting on the 20th will be pretty goddamn hectic as well, but the university coursework will be over by then, so it will be less so than now.

Update 84 Wel, I am much less busy now, so, let's continue with this This is where the game has what we want. Yup, it seems you are meant to explore every and all drat rooms in the halls. I've got a good feeling about South. Also I'm surprised that you still get to Dispel the more powerful undead, in a lot of games, that spell would be completely useless against anything but the trashiest early-game enemies.

That's what pumping up spell power levels is for. Dispel Undead and Astral Gate are useful throughout the game. However, if the party had that much trouble with the Insane Skeleton, the four bosses coming up are going to be a doozy and a half...

Update 85 Well, let'S CONTINUE. To the South first. Demons are easy. And now STERV and Tinklee both can handle them as well. Useful. A mysterious locked door! A highlander drow? Whaaat. tinysan detected something here. Bah, 3 ghosts? Not a terrible encounter. And they were guarding a chest Ghost hands are assholes. The important bit is the key, surely. I think I will go for Alchemist. But Sterv's choices suck! May go Priest or something similar, at level 9 or so. Yeah, I do not think that MONMOON will have any changes anytime soon. SNAKE may become again a ninja! That would be good except that he has no spells worth anything, really. Tinysan could use more spells too, but he is already a goddamn ninja. Oooh! A fountain! And some undead. Bah! Least bad spell there. As seen there, it heals EVERYTHING. Hp, stamina, magic. That is fantastic. Best fountain ever. And we already know that she had a thing for snakes. Harmless skeletons! See? No biggie. Even though they did hit DETPOPE 3 turns. Bah. And now time to go NORTH. Hmm, maybe the Knightly key we found will open this? Anti magic sounds like a good choice. That is a bit ominous... Well, this seems fairly incomplete so far.

Probably time to go ahead and mention this: coming up in the relatively (depending on how well the party handles the Guardians) near future is a major plot decision that will affect what endings to this game are possible and whether you need to fight the final boss. Odd as it seems for a game like this, it's not hard to talk down the final boss and bypass the incredibly irritating fight. In the not too distant future, Luisfe, the party will be given a silver cross and told it will protect the party from something. It will. However, doing so also locks you into fighting the final boss and makes you miss out on an incredibly potent item that's guaranteed to import into Crusaders. This item is incredibly unintuitive to obtain, but fortunately you've got a couple folks in the thread who know what to do. So in summary: Keep the cross + Protects you from a rather nasty encounter +/- Forces you to fight the final boss - Miss out on the best defensive accessory in the series Drop the cross + Get the best defensive accessory in the series +/- Lets you skip the final boss - Forces you through a rather nasty encounter

Update 86 Let's see what we can do now. There are more bones to be disturbed! Which means more keys. And more and more. Not a terrible level up. Shiitty goddamn spell for the level up though. Better than nothing even though air is by FAR THE SCHOOL LEAST USED by Tinklee. Or anyone anyways. Is drow a generic term? Or is this infringement. Or what. Tinklee's change options are not the best. We got the Drow key so This is a new sprite. Also, highlanders? Isn'tthat, like the opposite of drows. I thought they were underground elves. Or at least that is what was shown in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. That is not a good thing! Quite useful against multiple groups. The extras are not very strong. But spells make up quite a bit for weakness of the physical skills. None of those seem like, special/story items. Dang. Does not seem to be anything special in theroom. Well shitfuck that is a goddamn gigantic set of groups. And it is static. Gonna run away. Well this ought to be easier. Well now. With that name and being a valkyrie, I did NOT expect them to use the amazon sprite. Uhhh. They are DANGEROUS. And they gave a LOT of xp. That is a good thing. This sounds important! (it is not) Level up! And of course, CANNOT loving use the elven bow. Fuuuuuuuuuck. Elf only. And this is Valkyrie only. Well, this will have to work. Lots of NUCLEAR BLASTS. Huh, they are SPIRITS. Why the hell did I repeat this Sounds like good armor DETPOPE needs a new class now. I do not think we have any key for this. God drat it. Fighter, Valkyrie and Lord only. The king aint dead then. Well, the various class specific weapons these guardians are dropping certainly explain why everyone was stressing having a Lord, Valkyrie, and Samurai in an endgame party. I'm assuming those are ultimate or penultimate weapons for those classes. I'm also assuming that the one that was unfought drops a Samurai only katana.
