So my eyes got caught on Brynhildr, mainly because I read the manga for a while, even though I hated Elfen Lied. Only thing I could think about it was "I didn't hate it". Now the manga was chuck full of fanservice and inbetween brutal, bloody battles we got slice-of life episodes, but the worst is the main character who is the only one without superpowers but he is basically a genius with photographic memory and everything. Of course, he is the only positive male character in the show so go figure. Still I stopped following the manga for a while, since I couldn't be bothered and I'm afraid something horrible will happen later on just for shock value. In short, if you liked Elfen Lied for some reason, you will love this.

So I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet or not but there seems to be a new LOGH anime in the works and I have no idea how to feel about it since on one hand more LOGH sounds great but then again there's always that chance that it'll be terrible. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-02-12/legend-of-the-galactic-heroes-novels-get-anime

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-03-20/redline-koike-to-direct-lupin-the-iiird/daisuke-jigen-gravestone-film Takeshi "Redline" Koike is directing a feature-film follow-up to Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, called "Lupin III: Daisuke Jigen's Gravestone," which will open in "early summer" and "depict how Lupin and Jigen became partners." TWCFM was one of my favorite shows of the last decade, and Koike is basically infallible as far as I'm concerned, so.

I was sad to see that after the show they continued the trend of the really mediocre Lupin specials which, while not a bad watch by any means, are rarely memorable. Glad to see we're getting something worthwhile again.

I actually sort of wish I still had the original Dark Horse books from the late 90s (I think I wound up giving them away when DH went back and re-released them). Sure there were missing chapters and they were unflipped, but it was a part of history or something. Man Afternoon went from having AMG, Blade of the Immortal, Mushishi, Genshiken 1, YKK, and Blame all in the same magazine at one point of time to...uh, I guess Genshiken 2? E: The Berlin wall was still up when AMG started its serialization. Nate RFB fucked around with this message at 21:08 on Mar 21, 2014 |
