Rules Clarification: unless otherwise noted, you are not allowed to purchase a weapon in the same class/type as an Ares weapon. This means: - Matches, you have to replace your grenade launcher with the Ares one. The flamethrower is okay, though. - Schizotek, there was an Ares Jackhammer posted later in the thread. Please adjust it. Also, Schizotrek, where did your RPK come from? It isn't on your sheet.

I just never changed the words Stoner-Ares to RPK on my sheet. All my ammo and the price listed next to the lynx were all right, I'm just an idiot. But were changing it to the homebrew one which is also Ares-Stoner so its all good. Also 100 nuyen for me. I can get like..8 APDS rounds with it.

AmyL needs to fix their armor before we get into combat. Its got 21 capacity worth of upgrades. I've been trying to grab you in IRC but haven't managed to get ahold of you yet. It looks like you just forgot to count your chemical seals. The enviro adaptation is also off limits to us out of the box due to availability.

Hey I want to replace the nonconductivity rating 4 in my suit for Ruthenium Coating level 4. Any level of ruthenium polymer coating takes 4 capacity. Total cost would be 20k. Would I need to buy a whole new chameleon suit or could Ares just rework my armor or reissue me a new suit?

It's this: - Getting / erasing marks (meaning both Hack on the Fly and Brute Force) will remain Complex Actions. - Every other Matrix Action becomes free, but if you want to do more than one every one after the first is a simple action. My aim in this is two-fold: first, I think the Matrix action economy is sort of poo poo, and should be rectified. Second, if it wasn't clear from the fluff I've written, I've tried really hard to reconcile how matrix hacking works with how computers work IRL, and as far as I can tell the mark system is the most realistic piece of it. As such, I'd like to mark system to carry onward, with the idea of 'getting exploits' into systems, and let everything else sort of work naturally because if you've got root in a box you can make it do whatever sort of instantly. Again, this will be experimental, and your enemies will use it, too. If you're alright with that, let's proceed with Matrix things as I've described them. If not, lemmie know. Armored Car/APC driver ahoy. Lots of mounted weapons for you psychopaths to fire from. Questions: -How many points of recoil comp does a vehicle weapon mount give? -If I have the manual operation mod on a weapon mount, does that mean any other PC can hop in and shoot it while I personally can also take control and fire it, or does manual operation sever it from my VCR rig controls? -Does gunnery allow me to shoot any weapon mount as if I had the skill (I.e. can I shoot a VCR rigged MHG without a penalty due to not having Heavy Weapons skill? -Does Ares make a flame thrower equivalent, and if so, is there a vehicle level one? -What kind of guns (big or otherwise) does the team kinda have lying around that we can attach to this guy? -Do new apps get a portion of the extra nuyen/karma the others have earned thus far, or do we just make pure chargen? John Lee "Road Rash" Pettimore Born into the CAS state of Southern Missouri, John did the sensible thing and got the hell out of there at the first possible oppornity. Joining the CAS army, he was assigned to a mechanized infantry unit out of Ft. Hood, just north of the Austin DMZ, waiting for the Azzies to make another push. When the AzAm war kicked off, the CAS put out all sorts of decent incentives to stop manpower loss, in case the Magical Murder Mexicans came looking for them next. John managed to snag a re-enlistment package with a MOS switch to chopper pilot, bump to warrant officer, and a control rig on the side. With an extensive skillset and a solid, mid-level cyber package, he found it easy to line up a position with Ares over two years before his enlistment was over. Taking great care not to end up in total corporate indenture, John has kept himself informed on Ares policies and corporate law, choosing not to have his CAS nationality into a limited Ares SIN. Neither has he accepted an upgrade to his cyberware until he can save up and pay for it himself, knowing there are literal strings attached. Through careful reading of whatever documents Ares wanted him to sign, John acquired a position moving aerial and armored ground vehicles for Firewatch Security in and around the DFW Metroplex. Despite knowing that his choices meant he'd never get a serious raise or promotion, John would've been happy to sail on to middle class oblivion had it not been for one Thaddeus Oliver von Smuckles, self styled ork gentleman bandit, who attempted to jack John's truck as he was pulling away from the bank. Unfortunately, as he gunned the engine and pulled away, Thaddeus' leg got caught in the bumper and every news drone in the city got a full color shot of an Ares vehicle dragging an ork behind it down the freeway. The Ares PR dept managed to turn an imminent media disaster into "HEROIC GUARD FOILS BROAD DAYLIGHT BANK ROBBERY". John coasted on the fame for awhile, despite hating the nickname it had gotten him*, and was eventually invited to join the desert wars crew. Checking for catches, he agreed partially since it would give him a good bit of leeway in negotiating his own position and also because hauling things around and waiting for go-gangers to kill him was getting a bit monotonous. Arriving in-country, he heard Thad has busted out of jail. So far, he's not sure which will get him first, the bullets, anti vehicular weaponry, or a horrible, elegant, overly convoluted plot. Hi! So it seems like this game is sorta dying, and I think there are a lot of factors that are contributing to it. One of the major ones, I think, is because (lesson learned) the Desert Wars troopers setup isn't all that enjoyable to play out in the Shadowrun universe. It's inflexible and it gets away from the things that make Shadowrun fun to play (namely performing illegal activities and trying really hard not to get dead or screwed doing it). If everyone is onboard, I'd like to shift this game into that more traditional format. Basically, you'll stay in Tamanrasset as an Ares SpecOps squad, primarily doing more classic Shadowrun missions in the city while using your Desert Wars participation as a cover. You will only participate in one or two major game events, and otherwise will stay in Tamanrasset and perform jobs for Ares (and whoever they're willing to subcontract y'all too, and whoever else offers you work), and run one of the most dangerous, most lucrative places in the world. What do you all think?
