Not funny enough to buy yet another avatar about it, if you ask me, but at least it's not a complete travesty like that last one was.

There's a bit that Eddie Izzard does in his French stand-up routine about how the French word for transvestite (travesti) sounds like the English word for 'something really, really bad.' It's hilarious and I wish I could find it on YouTube.

Some of the Gamer XP fluff pieces got me cringing a bit - I don't need Crusader Kings II fanfic - but they do seem to be covering some uncovered stuff. The LARP article is nice to see, for example. I'd like to see more about local projects and groups like that, it's interesting.

Hey, this site's mine.

Yeah, we're still kind of feeling out niches and figuring out what people are after. Those fluff pieces are by no means gonna be everybody's cup of tea, but they're not our primary focus by any stretch of the imagination and there's plenty of room for everybody.

Happy for any feedback/suggestions I can get, we've been going about, eh, three weeks so far?

The one review that I read (Hearthstone) was lackluster, but I figure that's more of a "get into the swing of things" problem than a real one. Otherwise, the content's pretty interesting, and I'm excited to see where it goes (and to see that there's a site like this at all!)

There are actually quite a few virtual ones nowadays, but when it comes to physical I can think of like six or seven that are still in print.

Man, that "Best RPG" selection is pretty something. Shadowrun 5E has atrocious editing all over the place, Numenera is basically a D&D reskin with a patina of future-fantasy, and Mummy is, like a lot of White Wolf games, a few bits of brilliance mixed in with a bunch of wonky mechanics and questionable decisions. I know 13th Age gets a lot of love but personally I find it kind of uninspiring, so congrats to Fred Hicks for winning my vote by default I guess :confuoot:

If D&D hangs around long enough that they decide they're making a version that'll ditch d20, what sort of system do people figure/hope they might replace it with?
