/v/ (and /vg/, essentially /v/ without brevity) have always been a really, really sad community, but the steam friends thread is incestuous with the TERA, FFXIV and TES threads and all four of them have developed this creepy prison-gay typefucking culture. Unless you're specifically hunting for gamers.txt fuel, I would recommend staying out of all four if you're insistent on going to 4chan. Basically, the steam friends thread is a thinly veiled cyber-hookup thread so I would stay away from it unless you're looking to be some dude-pretending-to-be-a-girl's (in the literal sense, I don't mean that as a slur against the transgendered) sugar daddy.

This is old but I like it. Some time ago the developers of Warframe, a TPS loot game about space ninjas, finally decided to allow players to trade certain rare weapon parts. Before that the only way to get them was grinding same levels over and over and over again and hoping that RNG won't screw you over (so basically just like any loot game ever  ). Some spergers did not like that:

I remember some rant from years ago where a guy was mad some RPG series was switching to a different console. His core argument was that Japanese people were all about honor and wouldn't stand for such treachery. I'm getting back into ROM hacking again, this time the Pokémon games since I enjoy that series, I was hoping to find out how the Pickup ability works in Emerald since I've only seen a breakdown of the simpler version in Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed and LeafGreen, so I search "pickup" and filter it to a site I know to have a large hacking subcommunity.
