William Baker William sat up with a start, he had fallen asleep at his desk again with another book. He didn't really need to read them anymore, but he still found it fun. It was more enjoyable to read the books at your own pace than to just know the information when it became pertinent by the force of divine will. Well that and it was probably best to keep up appearances. He hadn't quite told his parents everything about how this whole 'Cleric of a Dead God' thing worked, a little white lie here and there kept the whole thing from becoming too awkward. But... oh yeah, the book! Crap! It had to be back at the library today! A quick rush through his routine of getting washed and dressed and he was down the stairs in a flash, a quick hello to his parents and a breakfast roll snatched from the case and he was on his way back to the library to resume his day of fun. Reading, that is, he was going to do a lot of reading.

William William stumbled in late, which was honestly somewhat surprising for the kid. What wasn't surprising was the book he held clutched in his arms. "Uhm..sorry, I forgot and.. uhh, my parents uhh.. Anyways I'm here now. right?" In truth he hadn't really told his parents much of anything of what was going on. He knew they disapproved of his 'faith healing' and this task was far too important to risk on them saying 'No'. They'd understand when he got back. Saving the world is more important than parental disapproval.

William William glares at Sariya, or more to the point glares near Sariya. "I put the books back when I'm done with them... you're just mad that there's someone in this town that might know more than you about something." He adds, much softer. "Or did you accidentally freeze your brain too."

William William peers at the dwarf, somewhat confused. "That's not what the Xs mean, and that's rather incredibly unwise for a number of reasons... but thanks for the thought I guess." I'm guessing we can just assume we paused to get equipped, or we just were equipped and didn't realize it. Since William for one probably doesn't trudge around town in a Chain Shirt.

William William looks at the river nervously. Maybe if he wasn't weighed down by armor and his big heavy books he could swim the distance, but the water looks cold and it would probably not do anyone any good without protection. The slight problem with only having the library for education was that the sort of people who go into the forest on a regular basis were not the sort of people who wrote books. "No, I doubt that I could make the distance under ideal circumstances, definitely not when it's like this. Though I can pray for assistance in whatever task we choose." I can give us all a +2 power bonus on one skill check each.

William Spending 2 surges- yay song of rest William spits out spores and blood and poison and other such things while calling on his inner reserves to restore his vitality. He hates nature, it's never as nice and clean and orderly as it is in the books. Fairies just make it worse since all they want to do is keep things 'interesting' and their value of interesting tends to get people killed. Sully seemed to do a good job of keeping the thing's mouth shut before Sariya had the bright idea to open hers. "You know what, Sariya, for someone who claims to be so smart you can be really..." William Worry, yes, worry. The ultimate tool of Baker women. Any task, no matter how slight was cause for WORRY and any worry at all was the worst possible thing. If his mother had her way William would be locked up in his room forever with occasional trips outside for family gatherings and enough sunlight to not burn like parchment. To hear his father say it the only reason they had him was because she was WORRIED about what people would say if she failed to produce a child. And the reason he didn't have a sibling was because she WORRIED they might compete for her affections. Right now he was just tired of the worry, he was grateful when his father intervened. "It... we succeeded, we got what Marco needed and saved the village. Sariya was a b.... Sariya was Sariya. That made it hard enough."

William William was sharp enough that his dad's last statement caught his notice. "Marco didn't tell you we were going anywhere and he tells you about this spell? What's going on?"

William His father probably thought it was right to hide things from William, he was his father after all. But so much had changed since he had left the previous morning. The town was out of sorts, his parents were out of sorts, and the furtive warning to stay away from the library even though William had just proven himself more than capable of handling difficulties and surviving. No, something was up and his father was trying to hide it. And unfortunately for his father, William thought of the town's registers as light reading. William Okay now he knows something's up. And it unfortunately involves Sariya. It just figures that even without her conscious intervention she makes things more difficult. And as much as he would like to say he wishes death upon her... he doesn't. William gets up from the table with a sigh, shoving the chair back into his vacant place. "I'm sorry dad, but I'm going to the Library."

William William smiles and chuckles darkly. "I'll remember father, you should know that." And Then he's out the door, heading towards the library and the cache of all his adventuring gear, as well as the two notebooks from the ruins. Of course he notices Victe first, and greets her with a wave.
