I'm glad we cleared that up, now we just have to hope that the President of the United States doesn't read the article himself and believe it.

One guy, maga hat, Trump pence shirt, trenchcoat. Sat in the front row, shouted down everyone who walked up and wasn't on his side of the discussion. High fived the rest. He speaks at the podium fairly early in the queue.

The discourse

Side 1: Self dealing progress bashing career pols like Pelosi, Schumer, McConnell, Richard Neal, et al must all be primaried and beaten, fast, in fact it's already too late to stop 90% of the damage they have done but we are still going to try.

Both parties will come out ready to lie cheat and slander to prevent this, but with our critical thinking skills we can evaluate each piece of evidence and above all avoid jumping to conclusions. We can't and won't elect abusers and we also won't allow the same canard employed against Alex Morse to become the silver bullet aimed at left leaning insurgent campaigns.

Side 2:

The minute I hear any allegation of wrong doing by a candidate, I launch my sprint to the finish line where I shout to the heavens - cancelled!. I will denounce them first and most loudly, and even months later I will spit on their campaign's volunteers if they text or look at me sideways. I don't care about whether the allegations are corroborated, sexual or non sexual, and in fact I'll conflate all allegations regardless of their specifics into what I call "the principle of the thing" or praxis if I'm feeling especially poseury.

And that's the key, more than anything: the principle of the thing is the little steppy stool I have that makes me feel safe and in control and regardless of how bad the results are electorally, I can climb up just those one or two steps and look down on everyone else and know that I was better, and I was first, and I was right. Black and white, open and shut case.

And if pragmatists or skeptics think they can teeter totter my steppy stool, well then they're going to find out what it's like to fight against the high ground.

Result: side 2 flawless victory!! Multi hit combo

It sounds like you're terminally involved in SF DSA drama to me, which seems to afflict every angle of this abortive Buttar campaign. While I'm fielding non objective anecdotal evidence, why should I rank your anonymous opinion over this non-anonymous one:

Let's set aside all of these allegations and the messiness of addressing sexually impropriety as it relates to politics (i.e. the Alex Morse vs. Tara Reade debate) and unite around the fact that whatever his other virtues or faults, Shahid Butter talks a lot about Burning Man and that's pretty annoying no matter how you slice it.

Finally a voice of reason

When other people don't like stuff, that's drama. Meanwhile I stay clear-headed and aloof. Sigh. I am the better man.

Ironically, the biggest ongoing endorsement controversy in DSA SF is that it's very easy for motivated members to stack electoral committee meetings and get it recommend endorsing a ham sandwich. Or rather, that's a simple fact, but the controversy is over how big of a problem that is. In my view, that we withdrew the endorsement from Shahid is evidence that it's not too big of a problem: easy come, easy go.

People who have not heard about Jackie Fielder, you're in luck: she has a real chance to displace our succdem state legislator, and everyone likes her except the cops.

Wow, its like rain on your wedding day, when you put it like that.

By the way i would recommend you to deeply reflect on why you instantly jumped to ham sandwich in your example there. Namaste.

Firefighters are CHUDs for sure (especially leadership) and have been chudding it up all month in LA with their panties in a twist about how bus and bike lanes are a threat to our liberty:

https://la.streetsblog.org/2024/02/15/firefighters-oppose-l-a-city-safe-streets-initiative-measure-hla

quote:

"I hate to tell you men and women, California - and Los Angeles in particular - this is a car community. You may not like it," Rice declared, "but it is." Rice derisively asked, "Do you really think you're going to see buses go faster than 12 miles an hour?"

Rice declared that "a small group of elite... Democratic Socialists" are behind Measure HLA.
