Well if Nintendo's good about DLC as they mostly are with stuff like Mario Golf, maybe other battle modes or characters would be part of some DLC later. Anyway my NNID is Symptom, can't wait to see how bad I'll be in 8.

The Giant Bomb review confirms my worst fears for Battle Mode. I remember reading in previews that the battle arenas were repurposed "regular" courses, but I held out hope that they would be substantially worked as MK battle-appropriate arenas, and it was just the visual theming that was re-used. What they ended up doing here just sounds like they were running out of time and budget to install a real battle mode. I'll still super psyched for this game and will enjoy the hell out of it for untold hours, but this is unfortunate. I guess we can hold out hope for a battle dlc update, though.

Played the game today. There's so much detail in the courses. Electrodome is my favorite of what I played because it's basically an F-Zero track. I also noticed that inside drifting is back for the sportier looking bikes. No wheelies though.
