it's pretty good apart from how they were all like "okay nobody needs to bother doing any production on this just put all the sliders to the top of the mixer and go for it". a bit like Raw Power but less awesome.

Johnny Cash's cover rendition of "Hurt" is superior to the original release by Trent Reznor. Fortunately Reznor created the song. Otherwise Trent Reznor would just look like a poseur pretending to understand a life of much suffering. (see also the band System of a Down)

I think it struck a chord with people because of the context. Cash had lived a crazy life and was right at the end of it. It felt very poignant not just in delivery but circumstance. edit: but yeah original is like a million times better
