Who's the #1 #1? I've always liked comparing the accomplishments of players compared to the use of their uniform number. For instance, even though it's fair game, running backs generally don't use numbers in the 40s, so a guy like Stephen Davis stood out wearing 48. Some numbers have been popular for years, repeating number, ending in zero, 7 and 13, it's harder to pick the "best" player with those numbers because of the logjam.

It's a weird fascination, I know, but since we're at peak offseason, it might be fun to go through and pick out the best player, current or past, to wear a specific number. See which numbers have the lowest thresholds to greatness, which have a multitude of great players attached to them, and so on.

00 is probably Jim Otto unless you'd go with this pretty good WR from the 70s

Was either of them coached by Lombardi? That'd be a good tie breaker.

The importance of this mission cannot be overemphasized
Is 12 the number with the most overall talent? Jim Kelly, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Namath, Roger Staubach, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ken Stabler, Randall Cunningham.

I guess 24 is pretty strong too: Champ Bailey, Charles Woodson, Willie Wood, Willie Brown, Lenny Moore

75 - Deacon Jones, Mean Joe Greene, Forrest Gregg, Howie Long, Jonathan Ogden

12 is Brady, unless Rodgers ends up winning like, 2 or 3 more super bowls and breaks some records.

Charles Woodson played his best with 21, not 24.

75 though... god drat. How do you even pick that?

Also, some that I don't think are even arguable:
