Street Fighter and Dead Rising tend to do okay, and people still like Mega Man even if there haven't been any stellar releases for him lately.

Understatement of the century. Mega Man's been dead for a while. They spite killed all three upcoming Mega Man games like the week Inafune left the company in October 2010. And after that all that came out is the mobile social game Rockman Xover and the embarrassing Mega Man X remake for iOS and Android. :(

Can any Wall Street types here calculate exactly how much a 51% stake would be?

Pretty sure that can't actually happen since Nintendo got those rights before any theoretical ownership change.

Please understand that due to a conflict in advertising we have decided to remove Mega Man from our new Smash Brothers game. ~Iwata

Seriously, a 50% stake in Capcom is over half a billion dollars currently. Nobody's dropping that kind of money on a lukewarm Japanese video game company.

Obama needs to take a stand for freedom and have the US government buy Capcom.
