It depends on the officer, really. I have a really good working relationship with the MPD guys in my areas because backup from my agency is usually 5-10 minutes away, minimum, at any given time. Handling incidents is pretty easy, its just a matter of looking at our jurisdictional map and saying yay or nay. We have our own dedicated dispatch with its own emergency numbers, but half of our calls come forwarded from the various 911 centers.

Because typically the FBI has no local knowledge whatsoever and just assumes ~their way~ is the best way to handle something. They're extremely arrogant and condescending to any non-FBI personnel and frankly they couldn't investigate their way out of a paper bag with a map. Read up on the "big" FBI cases and they're all because the suspect hosed up and did something dumb or a friend flipped.

That said, their HRT teams are the business.
