Had a juvenile burglary/unlawful entry suspect the other night demand to see our warrant giving us permission to search the house he was in. This was after a large group of "kids" broke in to a house to have a party, tore the place up, destroyed some things, stole some things, etc. The best part of that call though was after securing everyone in the house some of the juveniles were released to their parents, most of whom could give a gently caress that their precious little Johnny just committed a felony. When they turn 18 and start crying in the back of my cruiser on the way to jail because nothing your special little flower ever did wrong was a "big deal" oh well. In other news we've officially transitioned to external vests and all black uniforms. Jack Boot Status: Engaged.

Just saw an article about a cop who put down a pit bull. The owner called 911 because they were being attacked and reportedly the pepper spray didn't work effectively, only stopped it for a moment and then the dog attacked again. I'm still outraged of course. That owner and officer should have just let him snack of them awhile. Gosh.

Any semblance of care about our station went out the window when they announced a new station would be built... a few years ago. They just recently approved the plans for it though and expect it to be built 2015 or 2016... maybe. Agency commanders don't care because they never visit, and station commanders don't care because their only in the building maybe an hour or two a day.

Our OT board is a first come first serve take it as it's posted website. A large posting for a certain daily assignment next month was supposed to be put up probably sometime last week, but was delayed because the new "approving supervisor" wanted to "review it" before it went up. What that actually meant was he wanted the lady in charge of the board to wait until he got back from vacation, said "ok go", and immediately took several of the spots as they were posted for himself. The guy wonders why nobody likes him.

Funny thing is they are so short on officers and agents that in one case you might have an "enforcement officer" doing a full on investigation and in another case a "special agent" riding in a patrol boat. That's the reason NOAA tries to get most state level conservation agencies on the ocean to have their officers cross deputized with NOAA enforcement powers.
