David Cronenberg is probably my favorite director. Now he's known more for boring movies I haven't watched like Maps to the Stars and Cosmopolis, but his career has had a few phases. Let's look. My favorite is a tossup between The Dead Zone "the ice is gonna break" and etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYnGAZl3pjs or The Fly You see those Fly gifs? Cronenberg was a pioneer of this cool thing called "body horror." Videodrome Scanners: He moved on from body horror to extremely violent crime dramas like: A History of Violence Eastern Promises Oh yeah also he made a movie called Crash (not about racism) about people who get off by loving while cars crash and also loving people's car crash wound holes I'm missing a bunch so help me fill in the gaps. What's your favorite Cronenberg movie?

Yeah Crash and The Fly own bones. A Dangerous Method is a real snoozefest designed to appeal to undergraduate psych students though.

Always had a special place in my heart for Dead Ringers. I had these friends in high school, twin brothers who were both a bit eccentric and we'd make them watch it and constantly draw comparisons and just generally devil them with it constantly. They really hated it. So, yeah Dead Ringers.

Antiviral is pretty good and while its credited to his son its easy to see Cronenburgs hand in the project.

He's pretty cool but he's a Canadian director and I think he's always been a bigger name up there. I've heard him called "the Spielberg of Canada" but don't know how accurate that comparison is.

Dead Ringers alarmed me more than any of his other movies. eXistenZ is best cronenberg to watch while smoking weed and talking about sci-fi movies which are better than the matrix conceptually if not visually. Videodrome as far as being significant and more or less predicting the effect of internet pornography on culture before the internet was really a thing.
