Let's not forget the fact that at this time we are about BONES.

BONES is a white kid out of LA. He's been pretty prolific but with more quality control and lyricism than Lil B. I don't know how to describe him aside from a metal kid rapping. I am a huge fan of TeenWitch, a concept album based around the Columbine shootings.

There's a photo of him floating around in front of the school off of his recent tour. I can't find it and well. :effort:

ANYWAY:

Here's how I got into BONES:

It's not that it's bad, but it lacks energy like people were saying. That's frustrating too because he can make songs with energy, Peso, Bass, and Wild for the Night come to mind. His feature on Shabba Ranks is fantastic. This has a great beat, a good flow, a decent hook, but it doesn't actually make you want to jam out. At least, that's kind of how I feel and what I suspect others may agree on.

So TheStand4rd is a local group that's starting to get some heat. They sold out their NYC show and a couple others. They dropped their album today or yesterday. Haven't checked it but I thought some of you would like it because it's a supergroup including Spooky Black, Psymun, Allan Kingdom, and Bobby Raps.

The other dood is Bobby Raps. I haven't actually checked out these doods but there's overlap in my social circle and they put on for St. Paul which is really cool. I actually posted the album when it dropped but still haven't listed to it.

You mean to tell me celebrities dont have some sort of inherent business acumen?

I think it's more of how loving funny it is considering Jay-Z is rags to riches, and a lot of his image post-2001 is that he's still the same guy. Hell, most rappers who make it really big. It just shows how out of touch he is along with a lot of other superstars (those that didn't sign up just for the check.)

It's like the season of 30 Rock where Tracy realizes he's completely out of touch with people and it shows up in his stand up. "Have you ever noticed St. Bart's people eat their lobsters like this BUT St. Martin's people eat their lobsters like this?"

EDIT: I think it's even funnier because Jay-Z has been on the forefront of some cutting edge deals like ROCNation etc, where he makes a bunch of money. This is something that's already been done in a medium where people don't spend money if they can skip it. Isn't it like 1 in 8 pay for Spotify? What is going to want to make them pay more? Do these artists think people love them THAT much? It's a beautiful collision of having too much ego and too much money.
