Hz so good
Jan 25, 2014
Back in the days before the discrete soundboard market imploded, Roland and Yamaha released Virtual Synths of GS/XG, to replace the awful Windows GM wavetable driver.

Unfortunately, the Roland and Yamaha apps stopped being updated when WinXP went EOL. The closest I can find that will run on my Win7 64bit is VirtualMIDISynth, and Fluidsynth. I wanted to test them with Soundfonts rangin from 200MB to 1.6GB, to see if it made a major difference, than in the old days. So far, I can't get either DosBox nor ScummVM to reqognize the soundfonts.

Any ideas? This is really bugging me. I just want to hear what I may have been missing (SQ5/Elvira/Simon the Sorceror/Kings Quest/MonkeyIsland.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..
