A person can walk into a job interview and when asked "What do you like to do with your free time?" respond honestly with "Well besides, a b and c I also enjoy playing video games with family and friends" without this hurting his chances of getting the job. This question only applies to fields that are in no way related to video games. My guess is 50 years to never. Pro tip: "What you like to do with your free time" can sometimes be a sneaky way of asking "Do you go to church?" without getting into trouble because honestly the majority of people that participate in their church are going to mention it. So when asked you can always just lie and then refuse to discuss religion when at work.

Yeah, just saying I would never admit to playing games during a job interview, at work or on a date unless she brought it up.

Uhh you can do it now if video games are that important to you the important part is to not be a fat, hairy, antisocial blob of grease w/ wire frame glasses, which is the hard part for nerds

Never, vidya games are products for little baby children and shouldn't be brought up when trying to get a job, as that's something that adults have.

Can someone give me some good questions to ask my nephew about minecraft. Here is something some people might not know what i learned, minecraft is on the nintendo wii now. I was surprised too! edit: he will not know who goku is edit two: i hope

^ my six year old plays Minecraft and the other day she was blabbing on about it for nearly an hour the only thing I can remember is "respawning pigs" which for whatever reason was funny as hell to her. And OP no-one ever answers the spare time question truthfully. It's asked to assess you dumbass not to be social. So just answer something that shows you like to learn/improve yourself, something semi-exotic or interesting and most importantly something that proves you can work in a team and maybe something relevant to the job if possible. Videogames aren't a good example of any of these. On the plus side(kinda) if your getting asked stupid questions like these then the job sucks and guy won't really give a poo poo what you answer anyway.

If you can't find a way to word your video game hobby that turns it in to a positive expression focused on fast-paced analytical problem solving you're probably retarded.

I've got a WoW ?? Humanoid t-shirt my girlfriend gave me for my birthday one year. I don't wear it anymore because without fail some dork would try to strike up a conversation about WoW.

Honestly though if you need to work on strategies for getting a job you're laughably unhireable and recruiters can smell it on you like dogs can smell fear. Nothing is worse than interviewing someone who planned their answers in advance and tries to steer the interview in to a position where their canned answers can be used. If you can't hold a natural conversation about relevant topics while making eye contact and not fidgeting during a job interview without practicing and deliberating ahead of time you're not going to be a good employee.

Yeah just to be clear if a guy came to me in an interview and mentioned he liked the vidya games I would probably throw his resume in the shredder too. Although if I had to choose between video game dork and the guy that handed me a My Little Pony resume I would go with the video game dork.

church thing is actually a pro tip for most places whether the person interviewing you is christian or not but you have to say "I volunteer a lot for my church at events they hold" or something real sounding

It depends where you're applying, if it's a tech company it's a Good Thing to put on your resume if you can put a positive spin on it because it shows an ability to draw beneficial real-life experiences from virtual and technological interactions.
