This creates a positive feedback loop where the funding provider can make even more money from the favorable policy decisions. Meanwhile the public is kept busy with the types of politics that creates a higher emotional response, like gays, guns, children, drugs and abortions while the more ignored "boring" issues are what's making the money. Since making and having money is seen as an intrinsic good in American culture and it only happens to good people/corporations, noone will even care that it takes over the last decision affecting capability from the people.

Money doesnt affect elections, which is why it is harmless to pass laws against corporate campaign funding
