The saddest of football matches for perhaps the greatest losers of the world cup. Sometimes I wonder how I'd feel to watch one of my fave MNTs in this fixture. There doesn't seem much point to it really. I think they shouldn't bother but i suppose it sells some tickets.   Just making this thread because I haven't made any at all. Thankyou for reading it happy posting.

I got sort of hyped for the last two 3rd place matches because Germany were in them and I was even kind of glad that we won them. It's insane how retarded this match seems now that I don't have to give a poo poo.

I'd like to think it was because Klose is too much of a classy uebermensch to want to score goals and break records in a meaningless match.

Its crazy how quick my hype died down after holland got eliminated. I really do not care about this game and the only reason it exists is to further line the pockets of fifa.

It is a big match at the end of the World Cup but doesn't necessarily have much of an impact on anything (Van Gaal doesn't even want to be here, for instance), so you don't really need your #2 guy working it. CAF has never had a referee have the whistle in the third place match before. Nishimura, who had an overall okay day in the opener marred by a huge missed CMI, gets a fourth official as kind of a send off to recognize his service to the game over the years.  Haimoudi has worked three matches prior to this at the World Cup and, apart from a bad penalty kick awarded in AUS-NED, has been good. I know that Klinsmann was out in the press before the USA's round of 16 match about him, but Haimoudi was excellent that day. I really don't have much to say about him! Haimoudi is 43 and so won't be age eligible for 2018 so hopefully he can go out on a high note. The last couple of 3rd place playoffs have been pretty good matches tbh, hopefully Brazil will have a real go in an attempt to salvage something as hosts like Germany in 06
