Once I went camping to Norfolk which is pretty much the remotest nowhere you can get in the uk and I could see more than 5 stars which is rare for England now. It was amazing, a real 'wow' moment thanks op

serious post: I was at South Padre Island with my girlfriend of the time and we were floating on some boogie boards about 50 yards out from the coastline during the sunset at the tail end of a great acid trip. Off season, very few people on the beach, but the weather was phenomenal and the sky was this magnificent blend of oranges and reds and yellows reflecting off the cirrus clouds streaking overhead. We notice a little bit away that there are a shitload of birds circling an area of the ocean, swooping and diving and such for fish. Well, these fish decided to beeline it away from the birds and swam right towards us. So we're out, a good distance from the coast, floating in the ocean, and thousands of fish swarm around us and are leaping out of the water over us and there are hundreds of birds circling above dive bombing into the water to eat 'em. We float there amongst the chaos utterly mystified, completely encircled by a medley of nature being nature in it's most visceral form. Then, during all of this, my girlfriend starts screaming "GET OUT OF THE WATER! GET OUT OF THE WATER!" I don't know what the gently caress but whatever, she's freaking out so we paddle back as quickly as possible. Once we're back on land she's drat near hyperventilating and I ask her what was going on. She says that she saw a shark amongst the school of fish. I had not seen any sharks and just assumed that it was due to the acid. There were many large (3' or so) fish that were jumping all over us and just thought that she had mistaken one of them for one. After about 30 minutes I've calmed her down enough to go back into the ocean with me. We float around in the shallow waters not too far from shore when sure enough, a loving 8'-10' (judging by it's dorsal fin and tail fin) rubs RIGHT AGAINST ME. I could feel it against my leg and see it in the water. That's when I yelled "GET THE gently caress OUT OF THE WATER!" I apologized for doubting her as we collected our thoughts. It was like being in an Attenborough documentary only we were right in the middle of the spectacle in real life. It was probably one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced. heh. Thats a cool story. I have a friend who paddleboards out of San Fransisco. He and a friend paddle boarded out and ended up in the middle of a ton of sharks. They didnt know if they were spawning or what but they just calmly turned around and paddled out of there.

Turns out the rumors are true. Taylor Hanson’s rear end in a top hat is one big sloppy mess… at least it SOUNDS that way!
