The thing with tome and why you want Adventurer instead of Roguelike is that tome has a loving nasty habit of gibbing you with rares in ways that are excessively tedious to prevent. Unless you enjoy scouting every single corner with Arcane Eye and never, ever using auto-explore, you should play on Adventurer. It's not that hard to stumble into a mage who is out of your light radius who will shoot you with one laser for half your HP, then blow off the other half of your HP with another laser as you try to run.

I get what you mean about big drops not being that special though, Ernie. Ionno, I like tactical RPGs more than roguelikes and tome straddles a nice balance between the two for me.
