Law of the jungle
... the return of the Dick Wizard... or did he gain some better tricks?
I just stopped reading that thing, even as an LP.

MISSED INSTADEATHS NO. 4

Section 75 posted:

While your Warriors are recovering, you wonder what plans Agglax is hatching. Somewhere beyond the Forest of Fiends, he awaits you and your army.

When your Warriors are finally well enough to march again, you decide to go straight for Agglax, so you turn your army east towards the Forest of Fiends.

After crossing one of the tributaries that feed the River Kok, you come to the edge of the sombre forest. Dark, twisted trees reach high to form a threatening wall, and a whisper of uncertainty runs through the ranks of the army.

You break the eerie silence by shouting the order to march into the forest - the daylight quickly dwindles under a thick canopy of leaves overhead. Only the high shrilling of frightened monkeys occasionally wakes the silent forest.

After half an hour, a scout reports back to tell you that he has spotted a group of wooden huts, almost hidden by overgrowing vegetation.

If you wish to go with ten men to this village, turn to Section 238.

If you would rather march on with your army, turn to Section 180.

Section 238 posted:

The group of you walk into the village with swords drawn and come upon the gruesome remains of a number of Wood Elves who have been brutally slaughtered. Looking around, you notice a small bronze statue standing on a wooden plinth in front of the largest hut in the village.

If you wish to take the statue, turn to Section 168.

If you would rather go back to your army, turn to Section 88.

Section 168 posted:

As you pick the statue up, you hear a click. A dagger with a needle-sharp point is released from a coiled spring inside the plinth and flies towards your chest.

Test your Luck.

If you are Lucky, turn to Section 365.

If you are Unlucky, turn to Section 105.

Section 105 posted:

The dagger pierces your heart and you sink to your knees, clutching your chest. Your last thoughts are of your own stupidity for springing the trap.

Sure, they lost a child or two to that trap every year, but it was all worth it for this moment.
