I can only assume that they're jobbing Cesaro out thinking "oh well he's going to win the IC title so that will make him legitimate again!" You'd think eventually they would realize that their midcard titles don't give anyone any kind of rub, but here we are with the same booking we've had for ages.

My favourite worked injury was the one where Cena ran out of the ring up the ramp and pretended to roll his ankle or something. It was subtle and they didn't hit you over the head with it, it was awesome Does anyone remember what I'm talking about?

Tyler Breeze can be an amazing midcard act if they let him do his thing. He can even transition it to be more serious down the line, to me he really is the standout of NXT.

flashy_mcflash posted:I think the problem is that they keep making this character and it's not really catching on. His character has some interesting aspects to it, but essentially it's not very different from Miz or Ziggler. The 'Rick Rude' archetype is a good one but how many Rick Rudes can exist on the same roster, competing in the same matches against the same opponents over the same title? If they go all-in with Breeze being the male model with his iPhone camera and all that, he's very much different than Miz & Ziggler. Well, less different than Miz since they ripped off Breeze's gimmick on Monday. But still. By the time Breeze comes up Miz will probably be a horrible babyface again and there will be room for another narcissist heel.

Today on the Observer, Meltzer talked about how basically Vince always get excited about a "new toy" and then loses interest if it doesn't go great right away. This was him talking about the Network, but it could easily apply to Cesaro as well. Vince just lost interest and is instead focusing on his new shiny Roman Reigns, same way he lost interest in Big E, Fandango, Ziggler, etc.

Oh yeah, it's baffling to think that he'd lose interest in the Network. But I guess we'll see...

Hating on Cena is fun as long as you don't actually expect WWE to change anything about him or push anyone else. It's fun to boo him live and see him go AW SHUCKS. It's fun to get behind a guy like Punk when he faces Cena. If Cena being the WWE's golden boy actually makes you super angry and stomp around in a huff, then yeah you have problems.

I really enjoyed Cesaro & Kofi's spots in the battle royal. I did not enjoy Cesaro being eliminated by Heath Slater, only to have Slater immediately be eliminated too. It's so dumb to give someone a big surprise elimination and then have him chucked out too right away. WWE does it all the time though, that was a really poorly booked match.

Yeah I really don't see how you can criticize the Usos for recycling spots... that's what WWE has wanted forever. Watch a Rock or Austin match sometime. If anything, Uso tag matches have been consistently fast-paced and exciting, I generally find them to be a highlight of whatever card they're on. Seeing as how they get pretty much zero mic time and storylines, they're actually pretty over with the crowd too.

I missed the match, apparently Swagger vs Rusev wasn't very good last night? It's really too bad, Rusev has everything going for him but the in-ring work. Hopefully he clicks soon, I love when WWE has a big monster guy who can go in the ring.

Professor Funk posted:So, is there any logical reason why Jericho was booked over Wyatt clean? Dave said something about it maybe being because they dropped the Rollins vs Ambrose match. Since people were excited for that match and WWE knew they'd be disappointed with it being off, they booked the face to go over in Jericho vs Wyatt. And also yeah, because it's a 3 match series so Bray can take the final two wins and the first match will be a distant memory.

Paulocaust posted:You can try to rehab Bray, but you'll never wash the stink of that Cena feud off. Cena is Wyatt's antithesis, and to have him lose 3 in a row, even with interference from his goons, and just give up and forget about Cena goes against the grain of his character. Also it makes him look like a true chump. This is one area where WWE has trouble. In normal storytelling, or in the territory days, when the babyface finally beats the top heel the heel is then gone for a while. He doesn't just stick around and move onto a lesser feud. Bray could easily be rehabbed if he just went away for 3 months then came back in a huge way. But when he's around every show and we remember him losing to Cena it doesn't do him any favours.
