Pretty Little Lyres
Most guitarists (excepting classical guitarists) don't read sheet music. In the rock/folk worlds, mist guitarists instead read tablature, which tells you exactly where to put your fingers to play a given tune.

Don't sweat learning "the dots". And tablature is pretty easy.

But even tab is at least a few months down the road, as you'll probably want to start just by lesrning to strum a few chords. Music is pretty repetitive, so by learning just four chords you can play thousands of rock/pop/folk songs.
