At least in the UK, I'd go for "Loneliness" by Tomcraft. It totally cleaned up the charts (and not just the dance charts, the regular singles chart too) and kinda spelled an end to feelgood dance music before a wave of shoegazey indie poo poo filled the airwaves for years and years and years.
