I bought a pair of Koss headphones for ~$40 several years back. They sound better than my friends Beats, even the bass is better and he paid quite a bit for them. The box of the beats has no specifications on it, the Koss ones do.

The vogue thing to do is to wear your Beats at the gym connected to your tiny iPod/phone and look like an utter retard pressing dumbbells over your head with your overpriced headphones right below them.

Do those $100 Shure earbuds have sturdy cables, because I find that earbud cables break too often for me to buy fancy ones

It's the standardization of a piece of technology. Beats are terrible for that price range and the only people who buy them don't know any better or think it's some kind of fashion statement. I equate it to bud light. It's the default. It's a poo poo product that will deliver what you need when you don't know how to research or appreciate the product you want to invest in.

I need to get some new Grado's. These Shure headphones are too comfortable and you know it isn't a real headphone if it doesn't actively cut off circulation to your ears.

How are people not just constantly grabbing these off people's heads on the street? They'd be easier to steal than an expensive wristwatch.

Can feel a little annoying at first but it works.

The opening to your ear might just be shaped differently on that side then, which is pretty normal, usually when you buy earbuds they have different sized padding that come with them, it might look/feel silly but use a bigger pad for your left ear and a smaller one for your right and that might solve the problem. I hope my troubleshooting is helping.

RobattoJesus posted:Aren't bose almost as poo poo as beats? Audiophiles are renowned for hating Bose - they're kind of the tip of the spear for people hating popular things. Sennheisers have a punchier sound while Bose tends to smooth out the bass response more. For headphone listening I definitely prefer smooth over impact. Other people prefer to get that kick from the sound. Across the board both brands are clear as a bell though. There's things going on in songs that you can't even hear on a pair of apple buds but you put on a high quality pair of phones and you're like "Oh poo poo! listen to that!" I always thought that Beats were meant to fall in that range but I can't really tell if people are just hating them because can or if they legit sound bad for some reason or another

Seriously, the bass is not that great, the plastic band easily breaks, and it sounds like you taped some running earbuds inside a waterbottle. HD600 crew represent.
