As someone who has worked for The Media™ for 17+ years now I feel qualified enough to specifically say: gently caress the Media. The histrionics and hand wringing and straight-up self righteousness when the media/reporters get even the slightest hint of disrespect or a perceived slight is hilarious. Newsflash Mr. Reporterman: literally no one actually gives a gently caress about you. And some dude who doesn't want to give you the same tired one-liners over and over isn't "keeping you from doing your job". God I hate that excuse. Reporters now are sooooo loving sensitive these days. Now that I've gotten that off my chest: I totally welcome bringing this thread back into the limelight!

What is funny to me is that if he had just answered questions normally virtually nothing would have been written about him, as compared to what he did. The reporters should have been so pumped up that he chose an path that let them throw out FIREY HOT TAKES about nothing. Next year the media should be up for lifetime achievement for their hysterics about this and the patriot ball deflating thing IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF!

It could also imply that he didn't realize he needed help until he hit rock bottom later in the season, or that the coaches tried to make him wait in order to keep him from being a "distraction". Of course all of that is totally useless speculation and is counterproductive to this thread. We don't know why he waited. We do know that he is voluntarily going to rehab. There's no reason not to give him the benefit of the doubt.

He has been in rehab since last Weds. Agents and team probably wanted to wait until after the SB to announce so team personnel and players didn't get bombarded on radio row and the craziness that is media week. Also, the Browns season was effectively over in week 10 or 11, and even had they been in playoff contention its been over for a full month, so its not like he entered rehab the day after the last game. Something probably happened that made him realize he needs help. From a PR perspective, the announcement is perfect timing because everyone is talking about the game.

I agree with Chiche. By all accounts JFF voluntarily checked himself in for treatment of a serious and potentially life-destroying mental health issue. That's like the one thing he's done that doesn't count as doucheness. loving hell, even Colin loving Cowherd said so.
