If any of those clankers have their eyes on we'll stick out like a sore thumb. We can use the view to plan our approach to the shield generators or the armory but any more than that and we risk letting the droids leverage their numbers."

Lockdown moves towards his Rally point. Once there, he is greeted by the long walkway down towards the Officers quarters and Entrance gate to the base. By the time he reaches the point, he and the other team members hear over the comms: "Uh, the Gunship is asking for a status update, they want to know if its safe to land. I'd respond quickly, they seem anxious to drop orbit and begin the landing...." Also, at the same time that R2-B1 radios you, a pair of load lifters rounds the far corner and start making their way down towards the waiting shuttle. What do you do now? As Twangs, Ghest, and Scar quickly plant the explosives (some more successfully than others) the radio calls from the rest of the squad are heard over the chatter. Once the explosives are set, you rush back to the entrance of the Power station, only to be greeted by the same familiar 'clank clank clank' of approaching droids. Peeking out from the door, you can see that the squad of droids are quickly approaching the door to the station, and there is no cover between you and the approaching droids. The only option to evade the droids and avoid a firefight is to retreat through the tunnel in which the power cables feed whatever is in the Volcano. There is a heavy door to prevent backblast from the explosion, and if you time it right, you should be able to set the explosives to detonate exactly when the squad of droids enters the power station, taking out the droids and the power generators in one go. This'll take a Coordination check by whomever is arming the explosives, and a cool check by everyone else to exit while the explosives are armed.

"Come on!" hisses Ghest, hearing the incoming squad of droids. "Do we have to do everything?" Still grumbling, he glances back at the bombs they've set up. Using the same training they've all had, he swiftly calculates the blast radius of the explosives, quickly calculates the average speed of a battle droid and the running speed of a trio of ARCs, and then ruins the effect by counting a little on his fingers, mouth moving as he checks his sums. "Well, this should work... get ready to move on my mark," he comms to Twangs and Scar. Ghest takes a moment to rush back and make a few changes to the explosives, making sure everything will go off just so. Setting the bombs to detonate at the right time: 1eP+4eA 6 successes "Okay..." The squad of 15 droids entered the power generator station right as the door to the tunnel is slammed shut. Through the intercom next to the door you hear a "Wait a minute, this isn't the guard tow" The door vibrates against the explosion, but successfully holds. After a long time, much longer than any petition explosion should last, the vibration subsides. However, when you place your bare hand against the door, you can feel the heat from the explosion still lingering in the opposite room. It seems those proton grenades did an excellent job of destroying the power generator, and all of the squad of droids. The lights in the tunnel start to flicker and eventually die all together. What was once a long, lighted tunnel, with power cables running down it is now an inky blackness that stretches for a long time. You successfully exploded the power generator station, and didn't die from the explosion.. What do you do now? As Firebeacon and Haven examine the Shield Generator, you hear a sharp bang from the other end of the compound, and a blossoming explosion. The lights in the base snap off, and do not come back on. The only thing illuminating the path towards the other buildings is the light mounted on the Load Lifters heading right for you. When you approach the Shield Generator, you still hear the 'hummmmmmm' of power running through it. It seems that it has its own internal backup power supply. You have no idea how long it will take to run out. In the distance, you hear a alarm go off, and the clanking of droids. You don't see any yet, however the noise is getting louder. As Lockdown moves forward, towards the shield generator he transmits, "Gunslinger, Whiplash, execute Shockwave. I say again, Shockwave. Over." sending the go order to ship to begin landing operations. The reply is quick. "Whiplash this is Gunslinger, confirm execute Shockwave? We're showing shields are still up. Over." He mutters to himself, 'Are you going to do what I tell you or second guess everything? Rookies.' then keys the mic again, "Gunslinger, it'll be down before it becomes a concern. Begin your landing." he thinks for a second, adding, "Request you have CAS contact us on this net as soon as they're in range. Out." As he darts from cover to cover, heading towards the the entrance to the shield generator he shifts to the squad net, "Alright boys and girls, if we don't knock this shield out before the Gunslinger hits it, everybody's gonna have a bad day. As the battle wages on in the Sheild Generator, those of you close to the door hear a loud boom outside, and notice the streamers of debris entering the atmosphere. ARC-4104 "Haven" 14/14 Wounds | 15/15 Strain | Soak 4 Haven blocks out Firebeacon's whining and concentrates on the repair droid. Locked in, he fires. FIRE!: 1eP+2eA+3eD+1eS+2eB 3 failures, 5 advantage "Sithspit!" Haven snarls as the blaster bolt sails past the repair droid and impacts the comm terminal he was using. Sparks fly everywhere and the droid emits something akin to a scream as arcs of electricity burn through the interface probe. The droid, momentarily stunned, wanders into a clear field of fire. Spending 3 advantage to force the repair droid to "drop" the probe he's using to slot into the command terminal, and the other 2 to give anyone firing at him a boost.

ARC-3267 "Ghest" Wounds 14/14 - Strain 12/13 - Soak 3 "Distraction?" Ghest replies under his breath. He smiles. "I can do distraction." The newly-minted commando unhooks the Ion Grenade from his combat webbing, saunters into the room and takes a second to scan the battle droids, getting a feel for their layout. Glancing at his readout, he confirms that Twangs is on his way to the ion cannons, then takes a deep breath. "I got yer password right here!" he shouts, flicking his grenade into the nearest group of three clustered droids. With a bone-shaking BWOMMMM, the grenade detonates right in their midst, blasting all three droids with stunning ion energy. Eating 1 Strain to use True Aim after moving. Using my extra Advantage to give Scar a Boost die. Ion Grenade (True Aim): 2eP+3eA+2eD+1eB 4 successes, 3 advantage 13 Stun damage to each of the three droids nearest the entrance.

ARC-1987 "Scar" Wounds 18/18 - Strain 7/13 - Soak 7 With the explosions going off, Scar rushes toward the battle droids with his blade drawn. With the opening Ghest made, Scar slices at the first droid he reaches and it comes apart in half. The next one is taken down with little effort and he swings at the following one. He has been pushing himself for a while now. He wonders if he is going to be able to keep fighting or if fatigue is going to get to him. Slicing Robot with Vibroblade +2 dmg +2 pierce +1 vicious: 1eA+3eP+2eD+1eB 5 successes, 2 threat, 1 Triumph Do 9 damage after soak with one critical hit. Take two strain to move to engage and two strain from my threats

Lockdown posted:Lockdown peers through his scope, 'Those repair droids are up to something.' he mutters. Shooting through the moving legs of the lifters is going to be tough, and Lockdown takes a few deep breaths. He widens his stance, putting his shoulders behind the gun and briefly shutting his eye. Lockdown's shot is true, the blaster passing through the Load Lifter's legs and dead in to the Repair Droid's head. He quickly falls to the ground, still clutching the tangled remains of wires which he was attempting to patch. Firebeacon posted:As his long burst died down, Firebeacon heard the tell tale atmospheric thuds of an early stage orbital bombardment. They were officially out of time. Under his helmet he flinched slightly as Lockdown's shot flew by over his shoulder and shouted over his shoulder. "Haven, get these road blocks out of our way!" he said pointing angrily at the plodding lifter droids. As the fallen battle droid began to struggle to its feet he trained on it, drawing the cannon in tight, and did his best to fire around Haven's new pets. Firebeacon's stream of fire catches the B2, and he is quickly overwhelmed by the amount of firepower coming from the commando's rotary gun. However once the stream of blasters dissipates, he is able to haul himself back up. You see his arm contort as the hand moves away and twin blaster barrels appear, firing on Firebeacon's position. Shoot Plasma Shell Assault Canon: 2eP+2eA+2eD+2eS 1 failure, 3 advantage Unfortunately the shot goes wide, but not before it sprays the wall section Firebeacon is hiding behind. The wall is effectively useless as cover now, as the holes from the cannon have rendered it useless. Spending 3 advantage to destroy the wall you're using for cover. Haven posted:Haven blocks out Firebeacon's whining and concentrates on the repair droid. Locked in, he fires. The comm terminal explodes into a shower of sparks, and the room is filled with the smell of burning plastic as the wires melt. The Repair Droid using the terminal flies backwards, its attempt to signal failing. Attempting to recover from the stunning attack against the comm terminal, it wonders into the middle of the hallway. pre:2 B2 Super Battle Droids Soak: 7 Melee/Ranged Defense: 1 pre:1 LE Repair Droids (Minion) Soak: 3 Wound: 3/6 Initiative
I forgot the droid's turns last round, but whatever. This still works. Twangs posted:Grabbing the bag of detonite from Scar after his mad charge, Twangs raises a hand for silence, then quickly taps out a message on his text-comm bracer. Twang's slaughter of the cyborg behind the sights of one of the Ion cannons goes completely unnoticed, at first. However as soon as he has killed and dropped the unknowing cyborg into the lava underneath the platform, a screeching alarm starts to go off. In less than a second, before he begins to set the charges on the cannon, the cover protecting the Volcano from spying eyes in space is blown off with a loud explosion, and the two cannons begin to hummm with power. The other cannon, across the catwalk from Twangs, immediately begins to open up on the Gunslinger, its powerful blasts reflecting off the shields of the ship as it attempts to batter the second defense platform still firing upon it in orbit. Once Twangs begins to mount the charge that will knock out the cannon's ability to fire, the droids notice that the cannon Twangs is working on is not firing. Its hard to hear over the steady "bshhhhhhhhhhhhh THRUMBBBB" of the Ion Cannon's firing, but they are now approaching the catwalk leading to the cannon with interest. Ghest posted:"Distraction?" Ghest replies under his breath. He smiles. "I can do distraction." As Ghest sees the precarious position that Twangs is in, he adjusts the throw of his Ion Grenade at the last minute to the squad of driods heading towards the cannon. The grenade plops down in the middle of the group, and all are now twitching as the ion energy runs along their bodies. This new noise that eccentuates the firing of the Ion Cannon does not go unnoticed, and the alarm screams again. Doors open and out pop two Droidekas, primed and ready to fire at the sudden noise, one quickly opens up on Ghest, while the other targets Scar. Initiative: Yall go first. ARC-3899 "Twangs" 11/11 Wounds, 12/13 Strain | Soak 4 "Sithspit!" he mutters as the klaxons go off... the cyborg must have triggered the alarm on his way down. Dropping the brick of detonite and rounding the gangplank as he drew an explosive bolt, he makes note of Scar charging the other droids and curses silently as the droidekas start to roll out. Moving forward to get a better angle slightly, he exhales slowly, taking aim at the other gunner and letting loose with the deadly round. "SCAR! GET DOWN!" The shot misses the cyborg, who turns away at the last moment. Unfortunately for him, it still strikes the main control panel of the ion cannon, exploding with a thundering boom that reverberates off the volcano walls briefly before a secondary explosion, inside the cannon itself, goes off, turning the entire end of the catwalk into a fiery conflagration as the dome bulges outward and then shatters, the blast sending huge chunks of shrapnel and fiery death at the 4 droids standing on the catwalk as the burning mass that was the ion cannon lurches slightly on its moorings, looking as if it was about to tumble down into the lava below, taking that whole end of the gantry with it... Sniping the second gunner (+Aim, +Destiny): 3eP+1eA+1eB+2eD 0 successes, 5 advantage, 1 Triumph "Ha-ha, that's how you roast some clankers!"

ARC-1987 "Scar" Wounds 18/18 - Strain 8/13 - Soak 7 "Oh -" Interrupted by the arrow flying past him and Twangs yelling on the comm. Scar immediately rushes to get into cover and as he finishes sliding to safety. He notices that the mooring on the bridge can be cut at one point. Once cut it will take the whole gantry with it and make the fight easier in the sense it will only be the droidekas left to fight. He raises his blade and down the gantry goes with one effortless swipe. All he can hear is the b1 droids saying nonchalantly "oh no" as they fall to their doom. Athletics check to roll out of danger: 2eA+2eP+2eB+2eD 4 successes, 2 advantage Cutting the drat mooring off: 1eA+3eP+2eD 2 successes, 3 advantage Used my first two advantage to be able to roll into safety right to where the mooring is to cut it down. Using the next advantage to heal one stress, and using the last two to give a setback dice to the droideka that is targeting me.

ARC-1984 "Lockdown" Wounds 13/13 - Strain 09/13 - Soak 5 Lockdown shouts goodnaturedly, "C'mon ARCs, this fight should have been over already, I can't carry all of you!" as he fires again, striking the big droid in the shoulder. The blast causes the mechanism that turns the droids hand into a blaster to seize. With a mechanical screech, the blaster attempts to slide back upward, at the same time as it tries to move down, and the hand does the opposite, leaving the hand partially covering the blaster barrels, and jerking back and forth uneasily. True Aim, and Brace (again). Ending up with 9 Damage, Pierce 3 (again). Using advantage to crit and to give next pc a boost, due to me giving them a hard time. Crit is Sudden Jolt - Drops whatever's in it's hand. Shooting the uberdroid.: 3eP+1eA+3eB+2eD 1 success, 4 advantage crit the uberdroid: 1d100 14
