When you crossrated you should have gone CTN. No sea duty. Desk job. Easy livin. Also chief numbers are at 60% advance and are probably going up next year.

IT's and LN's fall under the "No sea duty" rotation now, as of I think a year or so ago, I am pretty sure there's 2 or 3 more rates besides that have that.

But all the CTNs are getting out with fat stack contractor jobs so advancement is insane-o high. 2nd class is basically 100%, first class is close enough that if you aren't a piece of poo poo you will make it, and chief is in the realm of "tryhard". IT and LN are nice desk job rates but that advancement just isn't there.

Haahaha some dudes are pissed that this one fat dude weighs in at like 240 and because he has a thick rear end neck gets measured in at like 18% bodyfat but guess who doesnt have to go to fep. Man cant run half a foot ball field before hes winded.

God bless the Navy.

Btw, does failing an command check in weigh in count against you? Old LPO is sweating it cause he sucked his way to passing and is probably gonna fail at check in.

Don't think so I don't remember a command check-in weigh in but I'm sure I did it I just forgot. You're *supposed* to be exempt for 3 months after you check in somewhere from a pfa and I did get out of one this way and also had to run one a couple weeks after I checked in. I think I heard this rule went away but not sure

Depends on command policy/what he's going for. Check in at JIT? Lost orders. Ship? Who cares.

I browse somethingawfuldotcom forums at work pretty much all day, and when I have to do anything at all it is basically 10 minutes to show someone how to open their email or some dumb poo poo, or 20 minutes for a crypto change once a month. Excellent use of taxpayer dollars IMO. I got my A+, Net+, Security+ (Everyone who works with computers should have those three, bare minimum), and am working on my CISSP cert.

It's not a challenging job whatsoever, but on the other hand I make the same money as a CTN at the end of the day anyways.

Why don't people just read the goddamn pub? It is OPNAV 6110.1J. I just don't understand why everyone listens to the loving gouge of random people but doesn't just read the black and white of the governing documents.

Poopkitty is, as usual, correct that it is based on command policy and not the OPNAV.

I didn't actually cross rate. I'm still a Nav ET. And what does it take to make Chief in my rating? An ANAV tour.... Which I cannot do here. So, in pretty much boned for a few more years until I can battle to get out of here.

lol at anyone who gives a poo poo about a+ net+ and sec+. I don't even list mine on my resume. CISSP is legit though.
