Anyway goons post about old forums you used to post on, maybe you can connect with some old school internet people or whatever.

I used to post on a Counter-Strike Off topic forum circa 2000~ when I was in high school. Current SA forums users Splitsoul and Necros I believe used to post there too. I was big_tex and I posted about Texas believe it or not!

Same though it had a solid like five-year run of being under no management at all so there was that

LUM THE MAD

Gave birth to like 50 splinter forums communities that were all about hating on lovely video game development and developers. Those forums were kind of a golden age and I'm sure lots of SA posters remember them fondly

there was a guy named Boogaleeboo on lum the mad, waterthread, and the corporation who was the nastiest posting motherfucker, he would methodically tear people apart one post at a time, he was a true artist.

There is a boogaleeboo on these forums but IDK if its the same guy, he is a lot more chill.

SirBruce, he was a level 99 proto nerd with thick glasses, ponytail, pale skin, and a cane with a skull on it he carried around everywhere. this dude posted non stop about MMOs, particularly his baby World War II online which was a legendary trainwreck of laughably huge proportions. He invested a bunch of money into WW2 Online and would never shut up about it. he was also just obsessive with MMOs in general and had all these graphs showing subscriber numbers for MMOs. iirc this was all before world of warcraft showed up

he was another spawn of Lum the Mad, I think he posted on almost every splinter forum after that community exploded

oh and of course Lum himself went on to be a developer of Dark Age of Camelot

Gamingforce Forums

Mainly known for being a repository for game soundtracks on a lot of its members' FTPs, but it was kind of a pseudo-SA with about 5% of the member base that this place has. Posting rate was kinda slow, as you'd imagine. I was even on the moderation team. Eventually petered out in the mid/late-2000s as people moved on to other forums.

Do you remember the Kurt Angle troll account that was absolutely prolific on the Counter-Strike forums around this time? I can't remember if he posted in the off-topic forums specifically, but it seemed like he was everywhere and anywhere.

That was one of my first encounters with an internet troll, at the time I found his posts infuriating but looking back it was actually pretty funny how effective he was.

I had totally forgotten SirBruce. I wrecked that dude's poo poo one time. And boog got me repeatedly. Man, that's a long time ago now, wow. There's still some people that post here with their old names. Taer, Taerkar, NephKa, and a few others, but not many these days, unless they changed their names and are stil around.
